Cargill Operator - Cleanup (Refinery) in Owensboro, Kentucky

This Cleanup position will be responsible for keeping the plants clean and assisting where needed on a daily basis. The role of this Cleanup position is primary focus on the cleaning of all four plant. (Refinery, WAX, Biodiesel, & Glycerin) They are expected to perform in a participative team environment, providing leadership and accepting responsibility appropriate with their skill and knowledge.

Shift(s) Available: 1st (7am-3pm)

Payrate: $25.27/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cleaning all plants as needed (Including Tankfarms): This includes but not limited to sweeping, mopping, washing down, painting, changing ceiling tiles, taking out trash, etc.

  • Participate in all quality, safety, and health programs. Participate in team activities

  • Assist maintenance and quality assurance in performance of tasks

  • Maintain plant security

  • Perform utility work (cleaning/GMP)

  • Assist operation as needed

  • Filling in other departments as needed covering for vacations

Once trained at a location:

  • Operate equipment and processes

  • Procure and analyze samples

  • Log data readings

  • Execute process adjustments based upon interpretation of analytical and process data

  • Prepare or update equipment or process operating documents and procedures

  • Conduct physical inventory

  • Troubleshoot plant problems

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer

  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility

  • Able to perform physical job duties such as bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator

  • Able to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Able to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

  • Experience using a computer

  • Able to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating mobile equipment such as forklift

  • Experience working in a production or plant environment
