T. Rowe Price seeks to recruit a senior leader to serve as Global Head, Global Client Reporting and Account Services Technology with responsibility for driving strategic improvement across T. Rowe’s Global Client Operations and Institutional Reporting. Reporting to the Head of Operations Technology, the successful candidate will leverage technology to bring about meaningful improvements to the firm’s client operations and Institutional reporting globally. S/he will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the existing client operations and reporting focused technology portfolio and implement changes where necessary to increase the overall effectiveness of critical T. Rowe Price’s business facing and client technology platforms. This executive will lead a team of engineers and analyst professionals that currently number about 100 associates and contract staff, based across three continents.

Central to her / his remit will be driving ongoing strategic efforts to drive further growth, digitize existing client on-boarding, advancing client data and reporting capabilities, expanding use of data science and machine learning where possible to introduce efficiency and lower error rates in client servicing. In addition, the role will focus on continuing to provide differentiating capabilities and flexibly adapt to ongoing business, technology, and regulatory changes. Over the next 2-3 years efforts are expected to be focused around the following:

  • Partnering with business leaders in Global Client & Investment Reporting and Client Account Management to explore, and invest in, state of the art Technology solutions for our business.

  • Complete the replacement of the legacy reporting and workflow technologies with convergence onto the strategic client reporting platform to increase flexibility for the business and allow quicker response to the business

  • Digitize’ the reporting and account client servicing so that the firm can scale and provide next generation client service

  • Increase straight-through-processing across the back office through use of emerging technologies and eSignature and client portal capabilities.

  • Implement an efficient and scalable on-boarding platform that provides consistent and streamlined workflows to improve client onboarding coordination based upon a central repository to track entire process with reporting dashboards. Must connect client obligations to downstream business partner applications and enable client facing teams’ transparency into Account Servicing activities

  • Enable the rollout of new investment product vehicles and content to drive growth while maintaining established governance protocols​.

  • Ensure that target state applications and Technology are maintained to the highest levels of reliability and that technical debt does not accrue over time.

As well as the functional side of the role, the successful candidate will be responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining the existing team with a focus on developing the engineering talent to ensure that the firm can deliver on its strategy. In addition, the candidate will partner with the business to demonstrate the ‘art of the possible’ and use technology to further enhance client service and drive increased revenues or margins.


  • Deliver a market-leading set of platforms and capabilities supporting the GCIR and CAM group to enable T Rowe Price’s continued best-in-class reporting and client servicing capabilities, and its ambitious geographical expansion in Asia-Pac and Europe.

  • Play a lead role in the maturation of T Rowe Price’s modern engineering capability and approach. The firm is a leader in cloud based application development and delivery and data science today and this leader will be expected to bring these new capabilities pragmatically to the benefit of the company’s clients, as well as pushing the boundaries of innovation further.

  • Play a meaningful role in the development of the operations technology strategy with colleagues on the Operations Technology team.

  • Ensure consistent delivery of key projects on time and with high levels of visibility and collaboration with business colleagues.

  • Coach engineering managers on how to run agile design and build projects - assessing designs and ensuring quality code (“testability”) is produced at all times.

  • Create broad project transparency for the organization to enable collaboration by management at all levels.

  • Ensure effective recruiting and people management for the organization; attract and retain top talent.

The successful candidate will be an experienced technologist, with a strong track record of success within a top tier financial institution focused on serving institutional clients. S/he will have led high-performance modern engineering teams and bring a deep understanding of the complexities of managing the client reporting and servicing of a global, multi-asset investment firm. It’s likely that the candidate will have lead digitization and scaling of reporting platforms in previous roles. Culturally, the role would be well-suited to an individual who is thoughtful, low-ego and collaborative, yet who has passion, drive, and ambition to bring a high caliber team on a significant change journey.


15+ years of large-scale client and reporting technology experience gained within a top-tier financial institution

Consideration will be given to candidates with deep experience in financial services or a digital centric business who may lack formal experience leading client servicing and reporting technology.

Strong technical acumen and orientation

Including a deep understanding of modern software engineering, the public cloud and data analytics and bringing advances of modern technology to the business to solve for challenges.

Proven technology leadership experience at executive level

Including having managed a team of least 100 people in multiple locations internationally.

Strong academic credentials

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, or other related discipline (strong experience with a less related degree will be considered), additional finance related master’s or MBA. degree preferred.

S/he should be able to explain technology issues to management in business terms as well as technology terms.

The Head of Client & Investments Reporting and Account Servicing Technology will have broad experience managing high-performing technology teams within a top tier investment manager or global investment bank. The successful candidate will possess a blend of strategic and tactical skills so that they can make operational improvements while simultaneously supporting T. Rowe Price’s long-term strategic business initiatives. As such, this leader must:

  • Bring an architect’s “first principles thinking” in terms of the optimal design and management of a complex global ecosystem involving a large vendor partnership along with an evolving and growing business. Be willing and able to ‘get into the details’ of specific technical implementations.

  • Engineering minded leader that can devise strategy and deliver incremental change toward it

  • Bring a deep understanding of how emerging technologies – big data / analytics, machine learning and low code / no code – relate to the world of client reporting and account servicing.

  • Bring a strategic business perspective to anticipate key marketplace trends, opportunities, and vulnerabilities, and represent opportunities in how Technology may enable those to senior management.

  • Analyze and effectively communicate to management the trade-offs (cost vs. benefit) of various technology related projects

  • Know how to manage large teams for consistent project delivery.
