Role Summary

Join T. Rowe Price's Global Technology team as a Software Engineering Senior Manager for HR Technology, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of financial services. Collaborate with business partners to develop innovative solutions using modern web/cloud technologies, integrating across platforms, and leveraging industry-leading software products. This role involves leading an Agile team to build next-generation applications for n-tier cloud architectures, addressing complex business, data, and technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a development team to deliver a portfolio of projects to achieve business and technology outcomes.

  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on capability to drive delivery.

  • Mentor and develop team members, providing timely feedback and coaching to individuals and teams using data to reinforce learning.

  • Ensure that the team is appropriately resourced, leveraging a combination of internal and external staff to execute the technology roadmap.

  • Execute the Global Technology strategy within your domain.

  • Identify and address issues proactively, ensuring team alignment and overcoming differences of opinion.

  • Manage technical debt and ensure quality, maintainability, and security of solutions.

  • Communicate progress, identify dependencies, and remove impediments.

Business Knowledge:

  • Understanding of HR functions, such as talent management, talent acquisition, performance management and compensation/benefits, and HR Compliance.

  • Experience with HR technology solutions.

QualificationsRequired:

  • Experience with HR technology solutions, Core HR systems, Compensations systems, cloud based HCM product management such as Workday HRIS.

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related discipline.

  • Experience with SaaS products, automated delivery pipelines, agile delivery, and test-driven development.

  • 5+ years leading software engineering teams.

  • Proficiency in Workday modules like HCM, Financials, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Compensation, Learning and other modules

  • Hands-on experience in building and managing integrations between Workday and other systems using Workday Studio, EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Web Services and custom solutions.

  • Knowledge of workday security to ensure data security and compliance of the solutions

  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Java, Python, XML, XSLT or similar

  • Experience building APIs and microservices using AWS SDK, Spring Boot, API management

  • Participate in design meetings and validate the soundness of proposed solutions

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Passion for learning and results oriented.

  • Commitment to quality through unit/integration and acceptance testing.

  • Experience in dynamic, fast-paced, Agile environments.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of financial markets and instruments is a plus.

    FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role. 

    Work Flexibility  

    This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$151,000.00 - $259,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers

$167,000.00 - $284,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.

$189,000.00 - $323,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role . Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package . Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
