Role Summary

Utilizing specialized technical knowledge and developing industry experience, leads and contributes to designated fund accounting and oversight tasks. Provides advanced technical advice and interpretation of accounting policy, and leverages network and service provider relationships to ensure integrated and high-quality responses to highly complex new requirements and stakeholder needs. Assigns tasks and reviews work of less experienced staff. Accountable for staying current, researching, applying, and sustaining a comprehensive understanding of accounting and reporting guidelines, company policies, regulatory and contractual obligations, and factors influencing their designated areas for sponsored products. Responsibilities:

  • Independently, performs or provides guidance on a broad array of activities to support assigned highly complex accounting and related oversight processes. Designs, assesses, and refines oversight procedures for assigned areas. Evaluates accuracy, completeness, and conformity to T. Rowe Price policies of data and deliverables from third-party service providers; addresses highly complex issues escalated by more junior team members; may assist management with framing third-party requirements; reviews the work of less experienced colleagues.

  • Provides support to product governance committees, such as valuation, liquidity, disclosure, and service agreements; leverages specialized knowledge and participates in cross departmental working groups on projects and/or to address complex ad hoc issues.

  • Conducts research and devises proposed strategies for applying accounting and reporting guidance, contributing to the design of related oversight controls. Leverages extensive knowledge of internal controls, T. Rowe Price policies and products, relevant guidance, and service standards, as well as key drivers for assigned areas. Works closely with peers and management to develop, disseminate, and train staff or third-party providers on new policies. Identifies gaps or areas for improvement in processes and controls and develops and recommends solutions aligned with technical policies.

  • Recognized as an internal expert for advice and guidance on highly complex technical accounting and/or related oversight matters and the application of relevant guidance. Leverages deep relationships with internal stakeholders and service providers to address and resolve multi-faceted and highly complex questions from internal and external stakeholders and/or provide advice on new, unusual, and complex issues. Assists management in developing processes and procedures to support high-quality service.

  • Frequently leads extensive cross-functional projects spanning various products, business lines, and geographic regions for management. Also takes part in steering strategic initiatives as needed, providing oversight, guidance, and performance feedback to project staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or related field AND

  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience

  • Previous Asset Management / Mutual Fund /Investment Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates capability to fully own a task or process from start to finish.

  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and an ability to appropriately prioritize.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to apply strict attention to detail.

  • Excels both in independent work and in a highly collaborative team setting.

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to two days per week from home.

Base salary ranges:

$132,000.00 - $225,000.00 for the location of: California, New York

$116,000.00 - $198,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C

$105,500.00 - $180,000.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus , which is determined upon company and individual performance.
