Description:

A Shift Engineer will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in the guest room, meeting space, and front-of-the-house areas, as well as back-of-the-house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. A Shift Engineer will also perform preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems, using a Windows based computer system. Ability to read blueprints and schematics is preferred, along with basic troubleshooting skills. A minimum of three years building maintenance experience is required with hotel experience preferred. Good communication skills are necessary.

General Responsibilities:

• General maintenance and repairs in the guest room, meeting space, front of the house areas, as well as back of the house areas, including kitchen, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.

• Performs preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems. Runs different shifts to cover all engineering-related issues during scheduled time frames.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

• Technical school and/or courses.

• Must have a positive attitude and be able to interact well with guests and colleagues.

• Previous hotel or similar maintenance experience.

• Ability to demonstrate proficiency in all essential job functions is preferred.

• Will be regularly required to walk, occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, and kneel. Must be able to lift and/or move from 10 pounds to occasionally more than 100 pounds.

• Good communication skills, especially in English and Spanish.

• Must be able to work all shifts, including the graveyard shift.
