Description:
The newly opened Thompson Palm Springs is now recruiting for a talented and influential Sales Manager, Transient & Leisure Travel to join our team! Thompson Palm Springs is the desert’s most exciting destination tailored for influential locals and sophisticated globetrotters alike. Situated at the heart of the city’s iconic Palm Canyon Drive, the hotel will offer a collection of 168 bungalow-inspired guest rooms and suites coupled with our total event space of 8,000 square feet plus additional outdoor and unique spaces. Thompson Palm Springs will also house its own mainstay dining concept that will feed into the menus at two bespoke pools and accompanying lounges. An impressive array of ground-level retail space spanning over 30,000-square-feet, guests will also have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center and a first-of-its-kind tasting room from HALL Napa Valley, with additional tenants to follow.
The Sales Manager,Transient & Leisure Travel, is a business travel/leisure sales person who has demonstrated through performance a thorough understanding and competence in sales, account management functions and the hotel/business travel industry. Responsibilities include selling guest rooms and services to transient market customers through corporate accounts, travel agencies, individual travel and wholesale groups. Duties include managing current accounts, ensure proper solicitation of all transient markets, and may include travel.
Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, presentations, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilization of Hyatt technology systems and coordination of customer service requirements with hotel operations staff as appropriate. The Sales Manager,Transient & Leisure Travel, will also participate and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings. The Sales Manager,Transient & Leisure Travel, also works as a team member with the sales and events staff and with other support staff.
Qualifications:
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
Refined verbal and written communication skills
A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, hotelligence, rfp express, lanyon, and salesforce.com
Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
