Lockheed Martin Factory Transportation Operator in Palmdale, California
Description: Determines proper method of loading, lifting, positioning, securing and unloading materiel; operates rider-type fork lift, tugs and aircraft moving tractors; moves high cost and relatively unprotected items such as major assemblies, jigs and fixtures, dies, and machinery from one location to another; moves completed aircraft during final assembly and flight line operations. Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure safe operations.
Ensures all materiel, assemblies and items to be moved are properly loaded and secured to ensure safe movement.
Must possess licenses and/or certifications required by the Company.
Weight restriction: Able to Lift/push/pull/carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
Body positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or waist) and stoop. Able to work in awkward positions as required.
Work content: Able to use power equipment. Repetitive tasks will be performed. Vision/Hearing: High level Hand/Eye coordination required. Corrective lenses may be used. Eye protection required in many instances. Color differentiation may be required. Must be able to hear at level required for positions.
Environmental: Able to work around noise, chemicals, fumes and dust. Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment including hearing protection if required. Able to work outside if needed.
Attendance: Regular attendance required based on set work schedule. Able to work any shift.
Vehicles/Power moving equipment: Able to operate as required. Able to work around heavy equipment or machinery.

Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
Experience with loading, lifting, positioning, securing and unloading materiel.
Experience with operating rider-type lift trucks, tugs and aircraft moving tractors.
Experience with moving high cost assembly, jigs and machinery.
Experience in using various make/models of Forklifts and tugs.
