Description: WHO WE ARE

The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Program) is looking for world class talent in Software Engineering to be a part of a team that will carry on our 80 year tradition making history in advanced aircraft development. The ADP Skunkworks Vehicle Management team writes software for a wide range of aircraft subsystems that make the airplane fly. We are a highly imaginative and productive team working on a new development project to create modular and reusable software to create not only our current project but an entire future portfolio. We operate out of the Skunkworks headquarters in Palmdale, CA in a fully onsite and hands on team.

This team is working new development software where our team members uses a wide application of modern technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test software products that can be applied to air and ground based systems.

YOUR IMPACT

This position is for a project engineer to collaborate with the software development teams for critical programs. You will be able to take your experience as a software or project engineer and help lead the team to meet release milestones.

Your responsibilities for this role will include creating, maintaining, managing, and briefing multiple tasks within our ADP projects. You will be part of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. You must have demonstrated effective communication skills as the position will require frequent inter-organizational and outside customer interactions.

This position offers you the opportunity to have a high impact on a productive program as they grow their own skillset.

Travel up to 10% may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college in a STEM field or equivalent relevant experience.

• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills

• Experience coordinating across multiple functions or engineering teams

***US Citizenship required*** This position requires special access and a Secret clearance to be considered.

Desired Skills:

• JIRA, writing JQL, and Confluence experience strongly desired

• Strong Agile Methodology understanding

• Good understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM)

• Good understanding of Software development lifecycle

• DevSecOps or Tech Stack experience

• Automation experience

• Python or Java experience

• Demonstrated self-starter requiring minimal supervision with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $82,200 - $157,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $94,500 - $178,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
