Reimagine What’s Possible Business Services Analyst Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Business Services Analyst within our Industrial Gas Business Operations team located at our Pasadena, TX location. This is a hybrid position which will consist of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
This position is part of a team that will be responsible for the management of the REPORTER applications. The REPORTER (REal-time Plant and pipeline OpeRaTional rEpoRting) consists of a suite of applications designed to standardize and streamline the collection and distribution of plant data used for customer invoicing, Global Operations SKFs (Statistical Key Figures), and plant operation KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) reporting.
As part of this team, you will work with business organizations / plants to understand detailed requirements described by the business users in order to build or modify the REPORTER configuration / setup.
This role will allow the incumbent to develop a cross functional understanding of Pipeline and Onsite business processes and practices.
Required Skills / Abilities:
The development and maintenance of the Reporter Applications which consists of a suite of computer software tools designed to simplify, standardize, and streamline the collection and distribution of plant data and pricing information used for invoicing, cost accounting, efficiency, and margin analysis.
Develop new or maintain existing configuration and implement/adjust configuration where vital.
Apply VMS, Vision, and Retriever Tools to improve Plant Operations and Customer data collection and review processes.
Develop new data output formats to meet commercial needs and enable business growth.
Participate in cross-functional teams to implement billing for new customer contracts.
Maintain existing contracts, working closely with the commercial team to enhance previous set-up enabling higher automation of the billing process.
Lead efforts towards improving billing interface issues with IT/Accounting
Continuously identify opportunities for implementation of best practices and optimization of processes to accelerate the month-end closing cycle.
Partner with the Billing, Operations, and Commercial Teams to provide integrated support related to contract execution, invoicing, and revenue reporting to improve the overall customer experience.
Support ad hoc requests and analyses aiming at improving results.
End user development and training. With users around the world, a network of key users / power users will be developed. Training the power users, so they can work with end users, will be key for initial deployments and part of the ongoing role when system enhancements are done.
Education and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred. Relevant technical experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
The position requires 3+ years’ experience and a sound knowledge of industrial gases plants, with particular emphasis on data flow and collection, processing and onward transmission to the different consumers.
It is expected that with this experience comes a familiarity with, and an affinity for, working with EXCEL, which will be necessary for working both within and outside VMS.
Finance knowledge on close cycle and analysis requirements a plus
Strong calculation and logic skills to enable translating contractual language into logical calculation commands required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, People Knowledge & Influence Skills, data analysis (financial and technical), computer skills, self-motivation
Key Skills:
Must be a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You need to have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a lean organization.
Ability to handle multiple sites/projects simultaneously.
