Job Description
The Pasadena, TX, location is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and support systems at our Pasadena Catalyst Site.
Responsibilities
Perform all work in accordance with all applicable company policies and procedures.
Perform all work in accordance with applicable industry and company standards, such as ASME and API.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plant machinery and rotating equipment, such as pumps, mixers, ball mills, gearboxes, compressors, conveyors, etc.
Lubricate machinery, maintain lubrication systems, and perform oil sampling.
Clearly document as-found and as-left conditions for work performed.
Initiate follow-up work notifications for repairs identified during preventive maintenance (PM) activities.
Perform laser alignment of machinery.
Perform boilermaker activities as needed.
Communicate effectively and often with supervisor and team regarding job status and any problems encountered and maintain a clean work area.
Engage in plant safety programs such as behavioral based safety observations, 5S efforts, and more.
Work assigned overtime when needed.
Meet safety, PPE, and physical requirements as defined for position such as climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, and lifting to include being able to lift, push, pull, or drag objects at least 50 pounds with or without assistance.
Must be able to enter enclosed spaces and tight places where free movement is restricted.
Must be able to wear a respirator and perform confined space entries.
Performs all other job duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements and Environment
Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
High school diploma or GED certificate.
NCCER certified millwright with 2 + years of experience or equivalent working in a maintenance department for a refinery or chemical plant.
Read, understand, and utilize mechanical drawings and blueprints, as well as equipment manuals, industry standards, and procedures.
Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an on-call rotation for a 24-hour, 365 days per year working facility.
Must be able to respond to call outs within 60 minutes of notification.
Ability to use computers and software such as Microsoft Office suite and SAP.
