The Global Construction & Infrastructure (GCI) North America Managed Account team is looking for an Account Manager with responsibility to cover onboard and offboard technology for key accounts. In this role, you will maintain effective internal and dealer partnerships while managing relationships with accounts to achieve key objectives. You will develop and execute account strategies and activities for assigned accounts, identifying business needs and problems and be accountable for the development and implementation of stated strategies as well as securing commitment of Caterpillar and Dealer resources to assure continued customer satisfaction.
What You Will Do:
Consult with dealers, internal business partners and accounts about technology across all applications of the business and or segment a corporate account may work in.
Implement processes and reports to allow an account to better manage their overall business
Work directly with accounts to collect information, sell additional products and services to current accounts, and ensure their needs are met.
Follow organizational policies and procedures, staying abreast of compliance requirements, and maintaining clear and direct line of communication within the organization to meet customer requirements.
Skills You Have:
Extensive experience in:
Customer Focus, Relationship Management and Effective Communications : Ability to maintain productive, long-term relationships with clients, internal and dealer parties, clear and effective communications, and to facilitate the creation of the 'right' products and services to resolve customer business issues.
Value Selling: Ability to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs and to qualify sales prospects based on a clear understanding of customer business needs and the service company's determined ability to meet those needs.
Negotiation: Ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with third-party and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner. Can detail the risks of negotiation breakdown from each party's perspective and protect own position, while demonstrating willingness to achieve win-win.
Working knowledge of:
Account Management : ability to manage day-to-day activities, providing services and support to existing clients and to advise on the appropriate solutions to complex customer accounts problems.
Decision making & Critical Thinking: ability to accurately analyze situations in order to reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Industry expertise: knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Specific industry experience with Construction Industry products, services, work tools and digital solutions exposure
Good understanding of Caterpillar’s technology offerings, ie (VisionLink, Onboard Machine Systems)
Experience working with Cat dealers and customers
Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering, business or marketing
Extensive commercial experience involving dealer and/or customer facing positions
Additional Details:
Work location: Peoria, IL
Domestic relocation assistance is available
Travel: 30-50%
This position is currently a hybrid in-office work model, requiring a 3-day weekly office presence when not traveling. However, work arrangements may be adjusted at any time based on business needs.
Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
