About the Role
As a Digital Technical Analyst, you will be involved in specifying functional requirements and developing solution concepts to address customer needs across on-asset electronic systems and our digital platforms. You will be responsible for gathering new customer connectivity feature requests, refining these requests, guiding them through the architecture, development and validation process and ensuring their timely delivery.
As a Digital Technical Analyst, you will collaborate with Cat Digital architecture, platform and applications teams and execute on new technology implementation, research and evaluation of emerging digital technologies and solutions.
This Digital Technical Analyst position will be in Peoria, IL within Enterprise Connectivity team inside the CAT Digital organization which has enterprise accountability for telematics and telecommunications product line strategy, rationalization, quality, and cost. This position will be critical in gathering connectivity (telematics) requirements for various projects across the industries and business units, consolidating and rationalizing that input, and considering tradeoffs in costs and functionality to drive optimal enterprise solutions for the global market. You will also be accountable for the delivery of the resulting product line solutions for factories and aftermarket.
What you will do:
Responsible for gathering connectivity feature requests from customers. Follows policies, practices and standards for determining functional and non-functional requirements
Participate in addressing business requirements for applications and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver digital solutions that meets business results
Collaborate with performing organizations with respect to deliverables associated with requirements. Participates in the preparation of detailed documentation and requirements. Utilizes specific organizational methods, tools and techniques for requirements analysis
Collaborate with Cat Digital, IC&S and product groups to design an application's technical infrastructure, such as specific databases, utilities, verification and validation approaches
Will require interfacing with customers including Construction Industries, Resource Industries, Energy & Transportation, and Aftermarket
Assist in creating, prioritizing, and maintaining the connectivity feature request backlog
Participate in the technical design of a specific application or solution (on-board/off-board). Select and present design alternatives for application(s) of small to medium complexity. Define tasks, activities, deliverables, and key concerns of technical design. Assists in reviewing and documenting technical application designs
Leading the evaluation and deployment of new digital technologies and solutions to add or enhance existing digital technical capabilities
Works with specific development platforms, system and program design tools
Oversee and ensure the timely delivery of connectivity features through collaboration with development partners in both ICS and Cat Digital. This entails shepherding features through architectural assessment, engineering forecasting, release commitment, validation and delivery
Communicate the status of feature requests to stakeholders and customers in clear, concise, and compelling manner

Technical Troubleshooting : Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation
Degree Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering or related field
Top candidates will also have
Minimum cumulative GPA requirement 3.0/ 4.0 (no rounding)
Expected graduation date between January 2024 through June 2025
Knowledge of machine systems and/or telematics/connectivity space
Understanding of connectivity end-to-end architecture (onboard to offboard)
Understanding of development and validation process for both onboard and offboard feature development
Experience managing projects and feature delivery with Azure DevOps
Requirements gathering and documentation experience with customers
Fundamental understanding of mobile machine operation, ideally construction equipment and operations
Strong accountability, planning/organization, and teamwork
Must have demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to perform complex assignments
Requires a self-starter with strong technical skills
Must have ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other business units, customers, and suppliers.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position, dependent on relocation qualifications
Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
