Caterpillar’s Global Construction and Infrastructure (GCI) division is hiring a Global Senior Product Consultant with focus on portfolio management for Medium Wheel Loaders (MWL) and go to market execution.

Role Summary: In this role, you will support go-to-market initiatives and sales execution as a subject matter expert on MWL. You will join a global team of product application experts covering for the full range of Caterpillar Global Construction products. This is a field-based role for an experienced and passionate individual contributor who enjoys working collaboratively and who can handle assignments that are complex, challenging and lend themselves to strategic decisions and recommendations.

What you will do:

  • Lead the NPI and Annual Product Updates Go to market activities globally for growth by using portfolio management to deliver the right solutions to the right customers through our global dealer network.

  • Collaborate for the entire portfolio with other Senior Product Consultants on the product line up strategy and feeding the commercial strategy to the product group representing the voice of the customer and Caterpillar regional sales teams.

  • Manage the marketing of technology tools/systems and work with key stakeholders to develop a product roadmap to drive business growth.

  • Oversee Percent of Industry Sales (PINS) trends, industry outlook, demand fluctuation and basic customer requirements.

  • Consult with the product groups, districts, and dealers in developing and implementing customer solutions designed to maximize product value and price through portfolio management.

  • Design correct business plan shortfalls and capitalizing on identified incremental sales opportunities.

  • Resolve issues related to the products and overall commercial performance in the territory; Oversee PINS trends, demand fluctuations, and basic customer requirements.

What You Have (Skills & Experience)

  • Customer focus – Expert level: Supports creation of products and services to resolve customer business issues. Consults with senior executives regarding critical success factors and details to being a customer focused organization.

  • Value Selling – Expert level: Presents compelling business cases for very complex business issues, shifting proposed solution focus from cost to overall value (benefits/payback). Coaches others on the application of 'value selling' principles and practices.

  • Products and Services – Extensive Experience :Coaches others on key factors that differentiate offerings from that of competition. Promotes understanding of multiple product and service groups and their interdependencies.

  • Effective Communication and Relationship Management – Extensive Experience : Communicates well downward, upward, and outward and ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Negotiating - Working Knowledge : ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Business acumen and strong project management skills

  • Progressive industry experience with a strong technical understanding of capital equipment

  • Previous experience working in an international environment / regional or global team

  • Additional spoken and written languages to English

  • Completed Degree in engineering, or similar field of study

Additional Information:

  • Work location: Peoria, IL

  • The role requires the ability to travel 30% and has a global outreach

  • Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days per week of in office work

  • Domestic relocation to Peoria is supported
