The Regional Sales Manager for Cat Solutions/Job Site Solutions leads a team of Commercial Managers in the development, definition, and selling of services and solutions to optimize customers’ fleet, equipment, and operational activities and deliver specific customer outcomes. You will develop, evolve, and implement the commercial strategy and related business model structures of Cat Solutions, which can include all the service capabilities within Cat and Dealers, as well as capabilities from the customer and relevant third parties, along with integrated options for equipment and technology financing and ownership. You will lead, mentor, and coach the team to manage end-users, dealers, suppliers, and internal Caterpillar capabilities into commercial operations. You will have direct leadership responsibilities for business development and growth of the scope and volume of the solutions business across all industries (with a particular focus on large mining customer sites) as well as leadership of Cat Solutions global growth strategies which can include support of country expansion outside North America to serve key/strategic global customers.
What you will do:
The primary responsibility of this position is to successfully lead the sales team in the development of end-user Fleet Services commercial packages and successfully sign new contracts in partnership with the full Cat Enterprise and dealers. A large portion of this person’s management time is partnering and influencing key individuals within Cat, Dealer and customer organizations, which requires excellence in executive business acumen and strong selling skills.
This position leads the Cat Solutions Job Site Solutions efforts for large mining customers in North America and leads the continued Global Expansion strategy in Canada. This includes responsibility for developing strong engagement and alignment with Cat account management and aftermarket organizations as well as Cat Finance and Dealers. This position leverages input and requirements from their team’s solution development and selling activities in the development of creative and innovative contract structures, commercial terms, and revenue generating solutions. This position identifies risks and integrates risk mitigation strategies into the commercial design and terms of the solutions to increase aftermarket revenue and improve Caterpillar and Dealer profit.
The incumbent develops detailed team and individual goals for total contract volume and identifies and develops go-to-market plans and growth projects to achieve and exceed annual goals. The incumbent is responsible for growing the sales team’s effectiveness and establishing a growth and succession plan to meet Cat’s solutions business growth plans. The incumbent should be a good motivational leader with demonstrated capability to influence a high performing cross functional team.
What skills you will have:
Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of services business models and successful sales experience in Mining, Quarry, and Waste is critical. Experience in field, staff, support, and/or supervisory assignments.
Business Development: This position typically requires an entrepreneurial, yet analytical skill set with experience in Mining applications, sales, equipment production support, selection, application, and operational optimization. The position also requires a strong financial ability to assure improved results at the customer, dealer, and Cat levels. Production experience and site management of equipment is highly sought. A complete base-level understanding of equipment and performance technologies is desirable.
Effective Communications: The incumbent must have proven success with their interpersonal and leadership skills and experience working with OEM distribution, and financial organizations, as well as customers’ legal, accounting, compliance, and business resource personnel functions.
Customer Focus: A track record of customer direct successes is also essential. This person must be able to successfully lead without direct control in a matrix organization. Global exposure (25% or more of the job dealing internationally) is also desired.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
Additional Information:
This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Tucson, AZ, or Peoria, IL office.
The position requires domestic and some international travel, typically 1 to 3 weeks per month (50 %)

Summary Pay Range:
$169,320.00 - $253,920.00
