Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Digital Product Owner at its facility located at 501 SW Jefferson Ave, Peoria, IL 61630. Work as a member of a scrum team to help maximize product value and the work of the scrum development team. Work intimately with the scrum master and the development team to create and manage the product backlog and to ensure everyone knows the priorities. Maximize the value of the product and the work of the development team. Act as product owner for larger, more complex projects with high value to the organization. Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog according to business value for the life of the project. Communicate product backlog priorities to the team. Act as the key decision-maker regarding what features the product will have. Responsible for the vision of what is to be built and conveying that vision to the team. Assist with the elaboration of epics, themes and features into user stories. Convey the vision and goals at the beginning of every sprint. Work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization. Make decisions on release dates and content. Represent the customer, interfacing and engaging with the customer. Participate in daily scrum as needed. Participate in sprint planning meetings, reveals, and retrospectives. Inspect the product progress at the end of every sprint and accept or reject the work that has been done by the development team. Act as the voice of the team, communicating status externally. Good role model of scrum values; understand the framework and the roles of each team member. Champion for the agile community and help to further the community within the organization employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by caterpillar management from time to time. Demonstrate leadership acumen and provide mentorship to junior business analysts and product owners on the team. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or related occupation. In the alternative the employer will also accept a master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field and 1 year of experience as a Business Analyst or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Current and valid product owner certification (CSPO from scrum alliance); (2) 1 year of experience creating custom codes with software languages such as: Python, Java, R, and C and employing software development life cycle (SDLC) techniques in aspects of software project management; (3) 1 year of experience in domain expertise in equipment management data & applications, and data management & visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau; (4) 1 year of experience in cloud computing solutions such as AWS and Snowflake and employing software deployment life cycle in aspects of project management process; and (5) 1 year of experience in managing fleet and heavy equipment management domain projects and working with an onshore/offshore team model and using agile software tools such as Mingle, AZDO, JIRA, Team Services, Rally. Travel: 20% domestic & international travel to visit business partners & customers.
Summary Pay Range:
$111,093.00 – $179,640.00
