Hyatt Assistant Operations Manager in PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania

Description:

The Assistant Operations Manager will assist in overseeing the rooms and food and beverage areas within the hotel. Responsibilities may include scheduling, forecasting and training, team development, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws as well as all operating procedures. The Assistant Operations Manager will promote an atmosphere that ensures customer and colleague satisfaction. This position reports directly to the Front Office Manager and requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively provide service to guests, other departments and colleagues.

Duties include:

  • Fulfill the short and long term planning and the management of the Front Office and Food and Beverage operations in the front of house

  • Support the budget, marketing plans and objectives within those approved plans

  • On the floor managerial presence

  • Support the development of colleagues

  • Support the hiring process

  • Coordinate front office and food and beverage operations with other hotel departments to ensure efficient guest service

  • Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality

  • Support procedures to increase guest and colleague satisfaction

  • Exercise quality control for both the front office and food and beverage departments

  • Maintaining Hyatt standards of service and ensure their implementation

  • Performing daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards

  • Coach and counsel colleagues to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures

  • Able to understand the concept and work in a variety of functions, across multiple areas of the hotel

  • Assist in other departments as needed – including oversight of Housekeeping staff

Qualifications:

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.

  • 1-2 years of progressive hotel Rooms/F&B Management experience

  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills

  • Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset

  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
