The Director, Prospect Digital Marketing Decision Science, will be responsible for delivering horizontal data science innovations as well as data strategy and solutions to drive prospect digital marketing in global markets at enterprise level. The candidate will lead the development of customized data science framework that is applicable across all digital marketing modeling workstreams, data intelligence and feature engineering solutions to drive new customer acquisition and business values in partnership with analytics, product, technology and marketing teams.

Core Responsibilities:

The Director, Prospect Digital Marketing Decision Science is responsible for:

  • Design and develop horizontal customized data science framework and pipelines that can be deployed across digital marketing models.

  • Explore and identify data intelligence that can power digital marketing models and work with product, platform and technology team to enable the data feed.

  • Build feature engineering pipeline to extract relevant and power features for digital marketing models to use, and built comprehensive and robust data QC process.

  • Identify new marketing areas, opportunities, objective functions and deliver modeling solutions to drive growth in revenue.

  • Driving operational excellence, and robust governance of models and data strategy across various use cases.

The Director, Prospect Digital Marketing Decision Science should possess the following leadership competencies:

  • Attracting and retaining talent and managing the data science team through setting and communicating goals, measuring accomplishments, holding team members accountable, delegating responsibilities as appropriate, and providing developmental feedback and coaching

  • Communicating effectively and appropriately to all relevant stakeholders with team’s vision and agenda, deliverables and outcomes, business insights and impact etc.

  • Designing and implementing processes, work flows, and systems in pursuit of increased efficiency and effectiveness as well as compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations

  • Understanding the organization and possessing the mission-critical technical and functional skills needed to do the job, including being well-organized, resourceful, capable of multitasking, and effective and efficient at marshalling multiple resources to get things done

  • Leading by example and embodying a culture of compliance consistent with the American Express Leadership Model, including managing diverse relationships and acting with honor and character

  • Other duties as assigned



  • Extensive experience and strong working knowledge of machine learning techniques. Ability to formulate real business problems under modeling framework and develop solutions.

  • Deep understanding of digital marketing innovation on campaign setups, site optimization, content personalization etc..

  • Ability to transform, adapt and evolve their/team's role with business needs

  • A people leader focused on developing a high performing team; internal and external relationship builder and collaborator

  • Strong data handling skills; ability to derive business insights from data and model outcomes, and convert into valuable and actionable information.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex modeling results, strategic vision and goals to business partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaborate across a matrix organization partnering with analytics, product, technology, marketing and external vendors to deliver solutions at top speed
