It begins with a Card Member using an American Express Card at one of our millions of Merchants around the world – the rest is up to us. The Network Acquirer Solutions team (NAS) is the heart of the American Express Enterprise, powering billions of transactions through the global payments processing network that we develop and manage.

NAS is unique within the Enterprise. We work across almost every American Express business unit as well as external partners, providers, and key industry stakeholders. We are known to be intellectually curious problem solvers as we tackle the most imperative initiatives facing the payments industry today.

The Network Delivery team within NAS delivers new technical solutions to meet the evolving demands of global payment networks and adapt to local needs while ensuring continued global interoperability. This enables the Enterprise to attract new customers, operate in new markets, react to changing regulatory demands, and process new types of payments. A role in the Network Delivery team will challenge you to broaden your skillset and industry acumen in a collaborative, diverse and inclusive team environment.

Reporting to the VP of Digital Delivery & Customer Engagement, the Director of Digital Product Management (Network Servicing Capabilities) will lead cross functional product delivery for transactional capabilities focused on Network Servicing – which includes managing the SOR for Network Participant Set Up leveraged for Onboarding and Transaction processing, developing User Interfaces supporting Network Servicing teams, Network Dispute Management applications & services, and managing data distribution across Network Applications. The success of the role will depend upon the individual’s ability to lead a globally distributed team, to understand and drive quality features delivery, and to have a strong focus on detail.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver on the promise by enabling and delivering capabilities against Strategic Roadmaps to drive greater customer value and business outcomes.

  • Manage relationships across multiple business stakeholders as well as technology, finance, and compliance partnerships.Lead and develop a team of talented and globally distributed product owners

  • Support the capability strategy and roadmap of various Network Servicing platforms & products in close collaboration with partner and stakeholder teams.

  • Establish strong/positive relationships across Product and Engineering teams; operate capability delivery as a unified team, ensuring collaboration and flawless execution.

  • Create synergies across Customer Journey’s, UI Frameworks and Digital solutions with our partners.

  • Develop and adapt processes to take maximum advantage of technology advancements, reduce manual effort through automation, and drive accuracy and efficiency.

  • Assess and evaluate program changes and modify plans in response, minimizing risk and scope/schedule creep, while ensuring high quality.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be someone with a passion to drive effective change in a fast-paced and innovative environment. They will be an experienced leader in the digital product management space who can rapidly develop positive relationships. Prior experience managing large and complex transformation efforts across multiple stakeholders will be a strong plus. The successful incumbent will bring strong interpersonal and communication skills to handle a fast-paced environment with competing demands.

Skills & Experience:

  • 5-8 years of digital product management and capability delivery experience leading lean and scalable teams.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate large teams of product managers, designers, engineers and business partners.

  • Payments industry experience, preferably including understanding of Network and payment technology and processes for debit/credit processing and policy and operations.

  • Experience in the delivery of high performance and high availability customer facing and/or interactive capabilities with UI/UX preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to self-start, carve opportunities out of ambiguity and operate with a high degree of independence.

  • Outstanding communicator with the ability to translate complicated business needs into technical requirements that can be delivered by scrum teams and influence and drive decisions within cross-functional teams.

  • People leadership experience, including coaching and mentoring of digital product managers.

  • Aptitude for user experience and technology with the ability to operate fluently across data/analytics, design and engineering.

  • Strong understanding of the Product Management lifecycle, with specific application of Scaled Agile delivery.

  • Cross functional leader and strategic thinker who has proven success working with a large group of stakeholders.

  • Global experience a plus, leading digital product delivery across markets.

  • High energy, an optimistic attitude, and a good sense of humor.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
