The Risk Products and Data Strategy function in Credit & Fraud Risk is responsible for leading the product management and product delivery of various credit risk underwriting decisioning and platform products for continuously supporting the transformation and modernization of key credit and fraud risk management capabilities.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Director, Product Development for Limit Management & Manual Underwriting capabilities will be responsible for planning and execution of respective risk strategies for our consumer & commercial products globally. The role involves working with product managers, and engineering leaders to convert the product vision into a well-managed development roadmap with a set release cycle. This is a technology facing role defining software product vision, ensuring flexible and global system/capability design, grooming user stories, prioritizing work for scrum team using program increments, defect resolution, forward-looking capability roadmap including performance, availability, and test automation.

The incumbent will lead a team of agile product owners & product delivery teams responsible for design & delivery of underwriting modules & APIs for reactive line increase, risk document gatherings, and manual underwriting portal. The successful individual ensures that the platform meets the evolving needs of the enterprise through continual innovation for new use cases to fuel growth, reduce opex and manage losses. This individual will also become a key member of solution management team to drive outcomes. Requires strong organizational, technical, and creative problem-solving skills. Requires strong stakeholder management and ability to influence across multiple levels of leadership. Must work well in a dynamic, complex environment and under deadline pressures. Coordinates the efforts of a set of scrum teams and/or SAFE trains (stakeholders, designers, developers, and analytics) to deploy the new features across markets and products.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Identifying opportunities and driving product strategy, roadmap, and features/user stories

  • Managing the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution via scrum teams

  • Leading the product functional design and partner with teams for design process based on an intimate knowledge of the customer and technology

  • Prioritizing engineering work and balancing the requirements of customers and stakeholders

  • Enabling analytics-driven decision making to evolve products and usage;

  • Evangelizing the product both internally and externally and shepherding products through the development process, advocating to achieve the best outcomes

  • Interacting with customers to identify needs, opportunities, and gaps, and solve problems

  • Brainstorming and negotiating effectively with various stakeholders to continuously define feature priority

  • Help your team develop products by making difficult tradeoffs and removing roadblocks

  • Defining and executing the deployment plan, working to insure that partners have what they need to be successful

  • Establishing the product’s goals and reviewing success metrics to achieve success

  • Automating critical steps in the process to drive efficiencies

Please note, Salary increases in case of a lateral move are provided only on an exception basis and in line with compensation guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 6 years of experience in driving technology product development and management in a cross-functional and global environment

  • A good balance of technical knowledge and business acumen with a proven track record of driving digital innovation and business metrics with a customer-first mindset

  • Proven technical experience with various big data & distributed suite of technologies (HIVE, MapReduce, Spark, Java, etc.)

  • Proficiency in managing development with low-code & no-code tools with focus on solving core business problem.

  • An established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, Scaled Agile Framework and principles

  • Enthusiasm and passion for building great products and services and an ability to articulate product functionality

  • Understanding of the evolving compliance and regulatory requirements and environment and how to incorporate technology, infrastructure and security requirements into the product design

  • Resilience while managing multiple projects/priorities simultaneously, often under high pressure and tight timeframes to drive the enterprise agenda forward

  • Elevated growth mindset with big picture thinking, lean startup approach and personal agility

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment

  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability

  • Ability to solve complex problems and a highly analytical approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Computer Science degree related technical field is ideal

  • Risk Management Experience is a plus.
