How will you make an impact in this role?

You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment as part of the Web Engineering team whose directive is to develop new products and platforms for American Express customers. You should be familiar with modern software development methodologies and be able to dive deep and rapidly iterate on ideas despite ambiguity.

  • Writing excellent code on the platform.

  • Function as member of an agile team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation)

  • Participate in code reviews and automated testing

  • Debug software components and identify code defects for remediation

  • Enable the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments

  • Demonstrate increased self-reliance to achieve team goals

  • Influence team members with creative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of strong experience programming in JavaScript and React.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required; advanced degree preferred

  • Experience with Micro front-end architecture.

  • Able to demonstrate core web development fundamentals & knowledge of the DOM.

  • Experience writing adaptive and responsive UI applications.

  • Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational/NoSQL databases.

  • Experience with object-oriented design and coding with variety of languages

  • Knowledge of HTML5, React, Redux, Angular, and Node.

  • Experience with automated tested and unit testing (Jest, Enzyme, React Testing Library).

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment and their frameworks (Git, Jenkins)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience with Agile software development methodology (SCRUM).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience with NoSQL Database technologies

  • 2 years of experience developing REST API’s.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually bonus benefits
