American Express National Bank (AENB) is American Express’ U.S. banking operation serving consumer and small business customers with payments, financing, and savings products. AENB accounts for more than 60% of the overall company’s revenues and net income. AENB HQ drives the administration of programs and services provided by AENB, in partnership with the various businesses, functions and executive officers. The AENB COO Office also plays an enterprise role in driving greater consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency across the first line via its Strategic Planning, Control Management, Program Management, and Governance functions.
How will you make an impact in this role?
The Manager, AENB Affiliate Monitoring & Reporting will be responsible for ongoing oversight of internal affiliate engagements who perform services on behalf of AENB. This position will be responsible for the gathering, organizing, analyzing, and reporting on the results of engagement performance. The Manager will report to the Director, AENB Affiliate Monitoring & Reporting and be a part of the Enterprise Affiliate and AENB Governance group.
American Express National Bank (AENB)’s Affiliate Management Program Office (AMPO) manages AENB’s contracts with internal affiliates. These legally binding documents include descriptions of services provided between legal entities, performance standards to measure those services, reporting requirements, and pricing. Management of the agreements focuses on ensuring adequate and appropriate oversight of each Affiliate relationship through regular engagement, ongoing validation, refresh of agreements, and performance reporting.
Key responsibilities:
Execute reporting on adherence with all aspects of Bank agreements/contracts including performance against defined standards/metrics
Create and maintain reporting and data management tools to facilitate team processes, including in Microsoft Access and MicroStrategy
Assist in identifying new performance standards/metrics during contract negotiations
Develop reporting to assess overall affiliate performance trends and identify key risks and gaps
Assist in maintaining strong working relationships with key business partners in the Bank and with Affiliates
Assist in creating/updating presentations including presentations for committees and internal/external regulators
Minimum qualifications:
Three to five years of MIS/reporting/analytical experience
Strong technical skills/computer knowledge, including Microsoft Access, SQL, VBA scripting, and Microsoft Excel
Experience in developing web-based dashboards to communicate key performance indicators a plus, e.g., MicroStrategy, Tableau
Proven ability to compile and analyze large amounts of data and report appropriate conclusions
Demonstrated strategic capability, with strong attention to detail
Excellent organization, process management and time management skills
Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly
Strong team player with ability to build relationships and influence decisions to drive results
Works independently within a team construct, while supporting teamwork and achievement of team objectives
Focus on continual process improvement and innovation
Proven ability to build positive working relationships at all levels within the organization
Strong written and oral communication skills; proven ability to build impactful PowerPoint presentations
Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and act decisively
Ability to balance multiple priorities with tight deadlines while remaining flexible
Understanding of Bank systems and processes a plus
Prior experience working in a highly regulated/audited environment
Undergraduate degree or equivalent preferred. Advanced degree in a related field a plus
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
