Team Description

The Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the heart of American Express. Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving our Issuing & Acquiring partners in more than 170 markets worldwide. We grow revenue by driving strategic, multi-year initiatives to deliver differentiated value to our merchants, partners and customers.

The Network & Acquirer Capability and Data Team (NACD) within NAS works to deliver digital products and services for merchants, network acquirers and issuers, and payment facilitators such as ATM/debit, point of sale authorizations & submissions, transaction pricing, disputes and settlement that meet the evolving demands of our global payment network. The wide range of solutions we develop enable the enterprise to attract new customers, operate in new markets, react to regulatory demands, and process new/emerging types of payments.

As part of the NACD, the NIC Platform plays a critical role in enabling seamless self-service capabilities for partners and internal teams, driving efficiency and accelerating speed to market. Our team is responsible for enhancing and optimizing this platform to provide best-in-class integration tools, data insights, and operational efficiencies. Our vision is to deliver differentiated insights that drive network growth by empowering bank partners, enabling GNS and the broader network organization to make data-driven, informed decisions.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Are you passionate about leveraging data to drive strategic decision-making? Do you have experience in data analytics, a strong understanding of the payments or financial services industry, and product ownership? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of self-service analytics at American Express.

As a Senior Manager – Data Analytics, you will own and enhance three critical data products used by both internal and external stakeholders. These tools empower teams to make strategic, data-driven decisions. You will lead the transformation of these products into fully self-served solutions, ensuring seamless adoption and scalability.

We are looking for a strong leader with a deep understanding of AMEX’s business ecosystem, including Cards & Products, Issuer, and Acquirer dynamics. This role will require close collaboration with technology teams to drive PI cadence, manage Rally, and align development roadmaps. Additionally, you will develop a go-to-market strategy to drive adoption and maximize the impact of our analytics tools with internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Own and evolve Data Analytics-driven products, ensuring they deliver value to internal and external stakeholders.

Drive self-service enablement, making data more accessible and actionable.

Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for analytics tools, enhancing adoption and user engagement.

Partner with technology teams to manage PI cadence, drive agile execution via Rally, and support seamless product development.

Work closely with business teams, product development teams and partner facing teams to align data capabilities with strategic priorities.

Lead innovation by incorporating best practices in analytics, automation, and visualization.

Advocate for scalability and efficiency, ensuring solutions are future-proof and adaptable.

Support data-driven decision-making by leveraging industry-standard tools like Hive and Tableau.

Required Skills/ Qualifications

5 years of experience in data analytics, product ownership, or digital product management.

Strong background in AMEX business, including Cards & Products, Issuer, and Acquirer dynamics.

Exposure to end-to-end product management (using Agile/SAFe methodology) to quickly convert ideas into objectives, set priorities and successfully deliver new products & solutions to market.

Ability to understand product architecture and connect the dots between business objective and technical solution to make informed business decisions.

Experience in developing self-service data products and driving adoption strategies.

Knowledge of SQL / Hive / and other data querying and manipulation techniques as well as scripting techniques is highly desired.

Basic understanding of advanced analytics, AI-ML techniques and their potential applications in product development is a plus.

Ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies.

Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
