Description/Overview of the Department

It begins with a Card Member using an American Express Card at one of our millions of proprietary Merchants around the world – then processing that transaction and getting the merchant paid is up to us. The Merchant Platforms & Capabilities (ACD) Products team is at the heart of the proprietary transaction process. We power billions of transactions leading to merchants being paid and continuing to welcome American Express cardmembers and their cards.

We are looking for a talented Product leader to join the ACD Products team in delivering efficient, effective, predictable, and compliant transaction processing. As part of the team, you will lead strategy, product development and delivery of solutions to merchants and partners around the world. The success of the role will depend on your ability to lead a globally distributed team, to understand and drive appropriate business architecture, to question and challenge demand through validated business benefit, and have a strong focus on detail.

You will work among high performing product, process, and engineering teams. You will have a passion for both technology and business strategy and an eye on industry trends. Working with our partners you will develop product roadmaps and prioritize features that optimize shareholder value while solving customer problems. Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the development and execution of the Acquirer Payments product vision, strategy, and roadmap

  • Supporting planning and scheduling of delivery of Strategic Technology Priorities

  • Owning key stakeholder communications on progress of committed initiatives.

  • Owning product discovery by forming hypotheses, defining objectives and key results, and recommending options that best balance cost-benefit to achieve defined outcomes.

  • Defining MVPs to meet strategic business outcomes while balancing innovation and efficiency.

  • Prioritizing and coordinating initiatives to reduce friction, increase standardization and of payments solutions via continuous investigation, in partnership with Technology and Subject Matter Experts via annual, PI, and sprint planning.

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of Product Owners, Analyst, and software engineers and developers on SAFe Agile practice.

  • Collaborating with the Director, and partner product teams to identify discovery outcomes and development feature backlog.

  • Delivering your goals and outcomes throughout the product lifecycle, partnering with Release Train Engineer to manage cross-team dependencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product Management experience in an Agile environment and with Cloud distributed systems and platforms.

  • Proven ability to execute against a product vision, strategy, and prioritized backlog.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Able to simplify complex ideas, navigate cross-functional teams and build relationships, influence decisions, and deliver on shared objectives.

  • Relationship management skills with ability strengthen business partnerships across business units and key functional support areas.

  • Ability to coach and motivate team members and foster a diverse and inclusive team culture, encouraging input and from all team members.

  • Familiarity with industry standards for Merchant Payments and Payments platform is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and processes to identify creative solutions and drive incremental improvement.

  • Ability to self-start, carve opportunities out of ambiguity, and operate with a high degree of independence.

  • Experience running cross-team Discovery for new products and product enhancements is a plus.

  • Experience working in a dynamic environment.

  • A good balance of technical knowledge and business acumen

  • Ability to delegate effectively and empower and support decision-making.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant years of professional experience.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually bonus benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
