We are searching for the best talent for a Pharmacy Warehouse Technician to be onsite in Pittsburgh, PA.

Purpose:

The Pharmacy Warehouse Technician is responsible for handling the operations of a warehouse that specializes in cold-chain medications and ensuring proper receiving, handling, and storage of these medications and phase changing material in accordance with federal and state laws, and Patient Service Center policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, maintaining and documenting temperature and humidity levels in storage areas to ensure medication integrity and viable use of phase changing material for daily shipping requirements

  • Inventory management:

  • Collaborate with pharmacists and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely receipt and delivery of cold-chain medications and other shipping supplies

  • Assist with regular cycle counts and checking expiration dates

  • Cycling supply inventory (first in and first out)

  • Conduct regular audits of cold-chain equipment and identify areas for improvement

  • Assist with maintenance and calibration of cold-chain equipment

  • Coordinate daily turnover and replenishment of shipping supplies including restocking of fridges and freezers with medication and phase changing material appropriately

  • Assists pharmacist(s) and pharmacy technicians with pharmacy cold-chain fulfillment activities while following cold-chain management protocols

  • Medication dispensing and order processing:

  • Accurately and efficiently fill prescription orders by retrieving cold-chain medications, counting quantities, selecting lots, labeling, and packaging products appropriately

  • Maintain patient and client confidentiality and adhere to all relevant privacy regulations

  • Adhere to established safety and quality assurance protocols related to medication storage and handling

  • Managing pallets disposal

  • Additional projects and activities assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail

  • Reliable, adaptable to changing conditions, and able to work independently

  • Able to lift, carry and move boxes and product throughout the day

  • Ability to operate a pallet jack

  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team framework with pharmacists and other medical professionals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with inventory management

  • Prior experience with pharmaceutical warehousing and cold-chain product supply

  • Proficiency with using pharmacy management software

  • Knowledge of pharmacy rules and regulations including HIPAA compliance
