TheCaterpillar Excavation Division Advanced Algorithm Engineer uses cutting edgetechniques in machine and deep learning algorithms to develop control systemssupporting advanced excavator systems.The successful candidate will be able to initiaterapid development and design of novel concepts to support Caterpillarinitiatives, following Caterpillar development standards and technical designrequirements.
Developmachine learning algorithms for sensing, planning, and control systemsto support New Product Introduction of advanced system componentsfor use in new Excavator and Forestry platforms, following applicable safetystandards, while also collaborating with Excavation Division Process Partners.
Developsoftware infrastructure to support the deployed advanced algorithms, including networkcommunications design, data marshalling, and middle-ware development.
Design,deploy, and maintain large production software infrastructures.
Identifynew areas (both online and offline) where algorithms can leverage data toenhance performance
Utilize version controlsoftware to document development efforts and collaborate with a world-widemultidisciplinary team.
Bachelor'sDegree in accredited Electrical Engineering program
Master’sDegree in accredited Data Science program
3 years' experience with algorithm development on heavy duty constructionequipment
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Experiencewith Python, Simulink, SQL, C , Linux
5 years' experience with algorithm development on heavy duty constructionequipment
