USAA IT Systems Analyst Senior (remote optional) in Plano, Texas

Purpose of Job

We are seeking a talented IT systems analyst for either our San Antonio, TX, or Plano, TX facilities. This person may also work remotely in a 100% Remote Work Environment.

The IT Vulnerability Management team serves as the liaison between InfoSec and the IT teams. We provide oversight, analysis, reporting, escalation, and technical support services for all vulnerabilities. We also provide coordination with risk, compliance, audit, legal, and architecture to ensure we are managing the risk well. Team members have the opportunity to meet teams from all over USAA and make a difference for our members.

Provides liaising services between business and IT delivery functions for the purpose of enabling the on-boarding, enhancement and support of systems, applications and other technology solutions. Assesses evolving business requirements to include establishing, evaluating and validating technical requirements. Recommends alternatives and/or enhancements to existing technology solutions. Researches and helps resolve production issues and defects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

  • Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities.

  • Serves as a SME for business topics for multiple IT delivery functions.

  • Serves as a conduit between IT delivery functions and the business functions through which their technical requirements flow.

  • Employs creativity, ingenuity, and innovation in the search for technology solutions designed to support analyses and business need.

  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with customers on the analysis of business needs and requirements to deliver solution artifacts as needed.

  • Leads analysis and verification of technical requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformance to standards.

  • Leads traceability of approved and base lined artifacts through the software development life cycle to include specifications, design, development, testing, implementation and defect prioritization.

  • Provides guidance and review of test artifacts to ensure coverage of testable requirements.

  • Provides certification and actively participates in defect management activities to confirm requirements are being met.

  • Contributes to project successes by partnering with Program Management to understand program plans and strategy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required in lieu of a degree.

  • 6 years of related work experience such as business and/or project management, business/system requirements, and technical analysis.

  • Advanced knowledge of multiple software delivery life cycles (Waterfall and Agile).

  • Advanced working knowledge of business productivity products, tools and applications.

  • Advanced understanding of system architecture and knowledge of software development concepts.

  • Experience of modeling techniques (e.g.UML) and use case development as well as experience with one or more software development frameworks.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with common security vulnerabilities and the ability to judge their severity and impact to the business

  • Understanding of technology components, interaction between layers and services for applications and infrastructure to include knowledge of networking, servers, storage, virtual environments, firewalls, middleware, applications, and associated concepts.

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills to analyze complex security requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls.

  • Experience with Patch vulnerabilities and remediation and/or SAST/DAST/IAST vulnerabilities and remediation

  • Experience with Secure configuration vulnerabilities and remediation

  • Experience with AppSec and vulnerability management for all aspects of DevSecOps/Cloud, Agile, CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with penetration testing against products and systems, including mobile devices, servers, web services, and web applications, wireless networks

  • Experience supporting initiatives related to satisfying regulatory requirements

  • AT LEAST one of the following Certifications: CISSP, GSEC, GICSP, or CCSP

  • Green Belt/Black Belt certification or demonstrated process improvement experience a plus

Compensation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $80,200 - $144,500 *(this does not include geographic differential it may be applied based on your work location)

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

*Geographical Differential: Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.

Shift premium: will be addressed on an individual basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
