Technology & Process Manager, Marketing & Creative Advertising

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Process and Technology (MarTech) Manager to help drive transformation across Marketing, Creative, Customer Engagement, Data and Analytics. Your opportunity as the Manager of MarTech at JCP is to impact the lives of our customers while driving growth for one of the best brands in America. The ideal leader will be passionate about customer outcomes and have experience building and support the Martech Stack to support End to End Content Supply chain in a retail space and have expertise in linking process with technology. You will report to the Sr. Manager Marketing & Creative Services & Operations. You will serve as the primary technology and process partner as we bring content, and technology together to better enable a more efficient content development lifecycle and deliver a more personalized experience to our customer.

You will oversee a myriad of responsibilities for JCP's Creative and Marketing Technology Stack and all systems supporting the Marketing Content Supply chain/ecosystem (DAM, MRM/Workflow, System integrations, Creative Project Management, Studio Production Management tools; Shotflow/Global Edit, Adobe Creative Cloud, and more). This leader will be responsible for managing user governance, user training and documentation, as well as overall system health. This role is critical for driving user adoption of the DAM and other systems and is always looking for new ways to streamline and simplify workflows for system users. A strong understanding of the Martech space and the content develop lifecycle processes including taxonomy, content workflow, creative production management, and system management are critical.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leaders from across Marketing, Creative and Technology to define and maintain a comprehensive modern marketing technology architecture and roadmap including the Digital Asset Management/Content Hub, MRM, Studio Production Management (Shotflow/Global Edit), Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.

  • Partner with creative and marketing teams to collect and translate Martech roadmap items; bugs, features requests, enhancements, and blockers

  • Understand priority development needs from the business to be managed in recurring bi-monthly sprints

  • Define paraments and drive governance from strategy to creative execution

  • Partner with creative and project management teams to define and drive best practices

  • Define data attributes across all process workflows for analytic analysis

  • Document process and workflow documentation in partnership with development

  • Understand integrated system dependencies and identify risks or potential production delays

  • Ensure our MarTech capabilities enable marketing to deliver on goals and plans

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and manage expectations

  • Stay up to date with marketing technologies, vendors, and best practices

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, privacy, and legal requirements

  • Understand industry direction and best practices

  • Understand and optimize the flow of customer data across the organization, and with outside partners

  • Define systems of record and reference for customer data, and integration patterns

  • Leverage strong collaboration skills to partner with varied stakeholders within the organization, including the analytics and enterprise data warehouse teams, business stakeholders, security, infrastructure, and other teams.

  • Training Management - Create and maintain onboarding materials for new user training and FAQs

  • Serve as point-of-contact for user issues and questions and support swift resolution

  • Support the Image Management Team to establish and maintain metadata/taxonomy schema

  • Support the Image Management Team to establish and maintain asset ingestion workflow and governance

  • Manage continuous improvement efforts across all Marketing and Creative technologies and processes

  • Drive successful change management practices with a focus on communications and support

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support the Image Management Team to Simplify, standardize and manage the asset system

  • Work with external vendors and business teams across an organization

  • Troubleshoot issues and questions from all user groups

  • Possess a general knowledge of how the system functions

  • Proven agility when managing multiple efforts across different tools and workflows

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience managing/leading marketing/and developing Martech systems.

  • 3+ years of experience in Marketing, Creative, Advertising or related field.

  • Demonstrated project management skills to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects to ensure delivery of top-quality output within established timeframes.

  • Documented experience with and understanding of the marketing, creative process across email, digital, and mass media.

  • Logically plan and sort out information coupled with being nimble and flexible with quick reaction and performance under deadline pressures.

  • Experience managing processes, resources and schedules with a strong sense of urgency and ability to problem-solve and be resourceful.

  • Experience operating in a cross functional, matrixed organization and capable of driving results across organizational boundaries.

  • Individual should be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and highly-fluid environment.

  • Appreciation for creativity with business acumen. A natural collaborator and enabler.

  • Strong communication and follow up skills to keep internal and external teams always informed on project workflow and solid organization skills with the ability to multi-task and reprioritize work.

  • Strong ability in translating business needs into requirements with a technical focus.

  • Easily forms cross-departmental relationships

  • MAC proficient and skilled using MS Office applications. 4+ years of experience using project management or related workflow tools, and experience with Workfront is ideal.
