Product Director, In Store Systems & Support

Plano, TX (Hybrid)

TheProduct Director, In Store Systems & Supportoversees the development of products from start to finish to ensure they meet the associate and customer needs and preferences. Their main duties include determining the overall vision of products, managing various backlog items and deciding which features each product will have according leadership priorities. Products will include Point of Sale, Inventory Management, RFID, Sales Audit, Cash Management and other hardware/software programs, integrations, upgrades and ongoing systems management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directs strategy for and portfolio of In-Store Systems and operates using the Agile process. Leads strategy development and implementation, creates measurable return on investment. Oversees multi-year hardware roadmaps and business cases to support capital expenditures.

  • Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements

  • Defining the vision for the team's products as well as the roadmap based on the vision

  • Managing the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements

  • Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the proces

  • Leads the development of partnering relationships with senior executives throughout the organization, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and ensuring that internal clients have access to high-quality advice and guidance to support systems development in delivering business strategy and plans. Develops request for proposal, creates capital project requirements, budgets and timelines. Ensures projects remain within budget, and hardware and software processes and applications adhere to Company Policies, Standards and Procedures and Security Compliance.

  • Leads the discussion and recommendation of more complex or innovative technical developments to improve quality of the website/portal/application software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users' needs.Collaborates with Information Technology, Store Leadership, Store Operations, Asset Protection and other key partners and business units to provide, understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into program requirements.

  • Identifies the systems capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of a significant business area. Evaluates current capabilities, identifies gaps, and prioritizes development activities.

  • Builds a highly engaged, results driven and cohesive team while creating a culture of development and recognition. Motivates others to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential. Builds capabilities elsewhere in the organization.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • 8+ related years of experience

  • Competent with Scrum / Agile process - Product Owner Certification preferred

  • Strong Data Analytics skills

  • Effective at Building Relationships at all levels of the organization

  • Strong Communication and Time Management Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
