Vivify Health is currently seeking a Software QA Engineer to ensure the quality of platform comprised of web and mobile applications. The web applications are developed in C#, ASP.NET, MVC with a SQL Server-backend. The mobile applications are native Android (Java) and iOS (Object C) apps interaction with the web app via RESTful API. As a QA Engineer, you will be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle from requirements, to design, to development, to testing, and implementation.

This position is very hands-on and requires a willingness to work as part of a cohesive team. All team members are expected to keep abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and frameworks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement an overall test strategy

  • Lead in the evaluation of testing tools and strategies to support test strategy

  • Deliver effective and efficient test methods (scenarios)

  • Follow company’s Agile/Scrum methodology

  • Effectively document and communicate defects found during the product lifecycle

  • Design and execute SQL queries for data validation and test execution

  • Design and execute effective test plans and test cases

  • Perform white, black box and exploratory testing

  • Work with Scrum team creating user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Ensure that the product meets or exceeds all predefined quality standards

  • Effectively communicate status of testing efforts throughout product lifecycle

  • Maintain knowledge of current test methodologies

  • IIS/Windows Server experience a plus

  • Be familiar with SQL Server or other popular web databases

This job operates in an environment that handles Personal Health Information, Electronic Protected Health Information along with other Personal Identifiable Information and requires strict security and privacy awareness with regards to handling such information.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience testing .NET, SQL and Web services

  • 4+ years of experience in accessing data from SQL server or relevant database server

  • 2+ years of experience in context-based, exploratory, or scenario-based testing

  • 2+ years of experience creating and executing test plans, test cases

  • 2+ years of experience with database design, data models and database structure

  • 2+ years of experience testing RESTful web services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 2+ years of experience with open source tools such as Protractor, Selenium, or similar

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in developing test automation frameworks, test harnesses, and test scripts using commercial test tools

  • Experience with design and implement automated load tests for database-backed applications

  • Experience with Android or iPhone development

  • Experience with Jira and Zephyr test case management software

  • Understanding of client-side development technologies, including JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, HTML, and CSS

  • Ability to derive automation scenarios from minimal documentation

  • Live within a commutable distance
