Salon Education Senior Specialist

The Salon Education Sr Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering innovative training experiences and blended training solutions for Salon Trainers to deliver to store teams. Manages multiple projects and partners closely with SMEs, vendors, and cross-functional partners to ensure Training is delivered to store sales growth. Determine training needs and evaluate programs and delivery methods for effectiveness, participation and engagement and adapt delivery methodologies to improve knowledge transfer, retention, and skill applicability. Leverages strong ownership, relationship building, collaboration and facilitation skills to drive action and results. Ensures education content is aligned to JCPenney core values associated with respect, inclusion, and diversity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help management to implement quality assurance change initiatives and/or make continuous operational improvements. Analyze specific problems and issues to find the best solutions. Solutions could be technical or professional in nature.

  • Conduct research and select relevant information to enable analysis of key themes and trends using primary data sources and business intelligence tools. Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.

  • Deliver training sessions or short courses, engaging, advising, and guiding learners and evaluating the achievement of intended learning outcomes.

  • Design learning sessions to meet the requirements of a specified curriculum or to fill gaps in existing programs; develop and maintain relevant content and high-quality training resources to ensure high levels of learner engagement and achievement of learning outcomes.

  • Engage with team or department line managers to clarify short-term priorities for learning and development. Gather relevant data on performance and current levels of competence; identify gaps in relation to required levels and obtain agreement on required outcomes.

  • Support strategic partnering efforts, identifying potential partners, building relationships, and assisting in negotiations with partners

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • 2-3 years Talent Development and Education delivery experience.

  • Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. For example, tailors' communication content and style to the needs of others. Pays attention to others' input and perspectives, asks questions, and summarizes to confirm understanding.

  • Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals. For example, strengthens alignment and coordination between own work and others', providing well-sequenced activities and exact time frames. Foresees and resolves many potential bottlenecks and delays.

  • Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions. For example, keeps in contact with customers to ensure problems are resolved, or to improve customer service. Studies internal & external customer feedback and emerging customer needs and uses these to determine some creative new ideas.
