TheSr. Technical Designermanages the technical design process and provides technical expertise to evaluate merchandise in terms of style, measurements, testing requirements, and construction to achieve the appropriate quality and design interpretation for the manufacturer to follow.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Buying, and Sourcing teams to determine aesthetics and ensure fabric and production standards and claims are being met.

  • Establish and maintain product standards to ensure brand consistency and quality.

  • Daily communication and follow-through with IBO, vendors, and cross-functional partners on new fabric development and production fabrics as needed.

  • Complete product packages in FlexPLM, including adding measurement sets, construction details and fabric information while endusring all information is accurate

  • Basic understanding of fabric, fibers, dye methods and testing requirements.

  • Maintian quality of product by working with suppliers to address any issues by collaborating with suppliers on fabric development or production issues. This includes follow up of low rated products via customer reviews.

  • Making sure all fabric information sheets have been received and adding Fabric ID/creating material ID's

  • Confirming test results for fabric claims are uploaded and ensuring certifications are valid and updated for product and/or factory.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • College degree in Textiles or equivalent work experience in a related field preferred with 8+ years of technical design experience required.

  • Knowledge of product construction, yarns, dyeing and finishing in the manufacturing process and understanding testing requirements.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrates confidence and assertiveness in communicating product information to various teams at various levels.

  • Ability to self-manage, works independently, multitask, and consistently meets deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills with an acute attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Proactive on problem solving and resolution oriented.

  • Proficiency in: Flex PLM, Excel and Microsoft
