The Opportunity

  • This position will work at our Pleasanton, CA site in the rapidly growing Heart Failure division.

Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) Division values and relies upon marketing expertise and best practices to guide our strategy and future success. As the Global Upstream Marketing Manager for HF Hemodynamic Management, you will be shaping the future of connected care for heart failure management. You will work cross-functionally to develop and drive the hemodynamic management business, via close collaboration with Regional Commercial Teams, R&D, Regulatory, Clinical, and Business Development. The ideal person will have a customer-centric mindset, comfort with clinical and technical complexity, and be experienced at identifying and leveraging critical user and market insights to focus the business and drive market change.

What you’ll work on

  • Be a leader of the product strategy, development and commercialization efforts for a Class III implantable system designed to remotely capture data and deliver timely clinical insights for HF management.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert relative to assigned product(s) or services with broad knowledge of disease states, current and emerging technology landscape, and market trends and barriers.

  • Obtain, analyze, and prioritize key customer and patient needs through market and clinical/ scientific practices monitoring; active engagement of key opinion leaders, current and potential customers, and internal stakeholders; and third-party market research.

  • Develop comprehensive business plans to identify and evaluate new business opportunities, then define market opportunity through detailed market modeling, development of unmet needs and value proposition, customer segmentation, and competitive assessment.

  • Represent marketing as core team member on assigned product development programs, from scoping and requirements development through leadership and collaboration with key stakeholders to drive successful commercialization and launch.

  • Ensure clear, strategically aligned global messaging and campaigns to support clinical data releases, product/service launches, and other initiatives.

  • Lead and work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment

Other Responsibilities

  • Execute and collaborate on cross-functional initiatives with speed and quality.

  • Provide senior management and cross-functional partners with updates, reports, content, and presentations regarding assigned products and initiatives.

  • Support innovation and evidence pipeline development and participate in portfolio planning.

  • Contribute to the annual strategic planning process.

  • Travel domestically and internationally in support of customer engagements and internal activities up to 25% of time

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Marketing Product Management role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's Degree

  • Experience with Design Thinking or Bio Design methodology

  • Class III medical device experience

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,500.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
