The Opportunity

This position works out of our Pleasanton, CA location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

The Senior Supplier Engineer Drives improvement and corrective action in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers. Provides technical support in the selection of suppliers. Develops acceptance criteria for materials. Monitors supplier performance to drive supplier corrective action, manufacturing yield issues and field failures.

What You’ll Work On

• As the Specialist in the Pharmaceutical/Biological Process Sub-Function, considered as highly experienced and knowledgeable resource within the organization in implementing and maintaining pharmaceutical/biological processes.

• Calculates and organizes all data for complex process flow sheets including instrumentation and control considerations.

• Models processes and unit's operations.

• Ensures proper sequence of operation and prepares specifications and operating instructions for processing equipment.

• Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, pressure and viscosity.

• Services, troubleshoots, and solves engineering problems with processes or equipment already in operation.

• Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

• May be responsible for corrective and preventive actions and investigation management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• 7 + years of related work experience

The base pay for this position is $86,700.00 – $173,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
