T he Opportunity

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. This position will be located in our Plymouth, MN office.

Within Abbott’s Medical Devices sector, we are seeking a Director of Business Human Resources supporting our $2.4B Electrophysiology business unit. This role serves as a strategic partner developing, leading, and executing HR strategies for Global Product Development, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Finance.

What You’ll Work On

  • Develops strategic HR plans per business needs.

  • Be an integral partner to senior business leaders regarding the design, development and implementation of specific people/culture and workplace initiatives and programs.

  • In partnership with business leaders and practice area leaders, develop and implement a talent and inclusion plans that ensures the organization has the right talent and environment to deliver on financial commitments.

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and training to build capabilities of the leadership team, including succession planning and development planning.

  • Ability to navigate through complexity and ambiguity; ability to pivot from strategic to tactical execution.

  • Bring thought leadership and experience to change management initiatives in the business.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and manage conflicting points of view.

  • Ensure external businesses and talent trends are being reviewed/benchmarked to develop best practices for the future.

  • Partner with leaders to build a diverse, innovative workforce.

  • Serve as a thought leader for larger HR organization to stimulate and drive division-wide innovative initiatives and programs to support the business short and long-range plans.

  • Establishes, builds, and maintains strong relationships with key HR partners from Area/Country HR, Practice and HR Service Centers to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet and exceed business needs.

  • Strong communication and analytical skills to drive organizational performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • 10-15 years of relevant progressive experience in Human Resources

  • Experience working within a matrix and global environment

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence, lead and transform

  • Understanding of key business and financial drivers and demonstrated strong delivery of HR results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting medical devices organizations

  • Advanced degree is Human Resources

  • HR International experience

The base pay for this position is $143,300.00 – $286,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
