We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Excellence Global Project Specialist within our Abbott Structural Heart business. This Global Project Specialist role will be responsible for Commercial Excellence projects with moderate complexity and working with enterprise systems, Salesforce.Com, and using analytical skills. The role is responsible for managing projects from early concept through execution. The role requires creating, maintaining and managing project schedules, managing large cross-functional teams, and managing project budgets. This role will be expected to partner with global counterparts in project task deliverables.

  • Serve as the project manager by assembling and leading cross-function project teams from project initiation through project completion. As the lead maintaining responsibility of ensuring goals of the projects are understood, the appropriate members are identified, and roles and responsibilities are clearly identified.

  • Actively facilitate, manage, and oversee aspects of the Commercial Excellence projects which will include developing, contributing, or assisting with development of project plans, define scope, goals, and deliverables of each project, including timelines, costs as well as other essential documentation as required per the Commercial Excellence project needs.

  • Coordinate and schedule project meetings and issue meeting minutes, including action items. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel, follow up on assigned action items and otherwise ensure team members are fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.

  • Develop an implementation plan, conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to accommodate unforeseen events.

  • Translate project goals into project tasks. Define the nature of the stated business or technical problem.

  • Resolve current issues, learn and adjust based on prior results.

  • Recognize the broader implications of actions and proposals on the final project outcome.

  • Write reports or other project required documents as needed.

  • Inform management team of status on all projects.

  • Analyze data for root causes of problems.



  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • 3-5+ years’ of data, enterprise systems and analytical experience.

  • Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of software including Microsoft Office programs Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint and any other project management tools.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly skilled in collaboration.

  • Experience working in a matrixed business environment.


  • Project Management certification.

  • Proficiency with project management methodologies and techniques.

  • 2-3 years’ experience of data analysis.

  • Prior experience in medical devices.

  • Ability to travel internationally.
