The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location, in the Structural Heart (SH) Medical Device division. We are seeking an experienced Process Development Engineer II to join our engineering team. This position will work with the team to develop and optimize processes and test methods used to manufacture and characterize metal components.. The candidate should have 2-5 years of experience in a related field, and proficiency in the use of SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
What You’ll Work On
Generates and validates 3D dimensional measurement routines.
Use of design of experiments for optimization of laser cutting processes
Creates and revises manufacturing documents, specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety instructions, validation protocols, risk assessments, and procedures and other technical documents to ensure compliant, efficient and safe procedures.
Works to identify root cause using structured problem solving.
Understands engineering principles theories, concepts, practices and techniques.
Analyzes and solves problems from basic engineering principles, theories and concepts.
Suggests and supports new methods or materials for continual improvement of quality and efficiency.
Works with other engineers and technicians in developing solutions and improvements in materials, equipment and process as necessary.
Participates in teams as necessary to ensure continual improvement, safety and compliance.
Interacts cross functionally and with internal customers and external suppliers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
2 years of experience working in a technical role.
Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
Proficiency in multitasking and prioritizing tasks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Results-driven with a focus on achieving goals.
Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
Experience with Excel, statistical analysis software such as Minitab, and other engineering analysis tools
Preferred Qualifications
Medical device experience
Experience with optical measurement systems
Experience with laser cutting processes
Previous close interface with R&D preferred
Lean 6 Sigma Green training

The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
