The Opportunity
The Quality Engineer II will analyze returned units from product Complaints, thoroughly investigate to confirm any suspected defects and utilize Quality and Root Cause Analysis concepts to confirm if the defect was caused by design or manufacturing. This role will require strong cross-functional communication, thorough investigative techniques and assist the production Engineering Team implement solutions to the root causes identified. Additionally, this position will work with the production teams on larger projects and supporting the defense of Quality Systems through audits as applicable.
What You’ll Work On
Apply quality principles, analyzes quality records, prepares reports and recommends improvements.
Conduct inspection of complaint products for defects.
Thoroughly investigate quality issues, determine root cause, and develop corrective and/or preventative actions to address these identified root causes.
Identify and address recurring problems either with the quality of the product or the reliability of manufacturing procedures.
Spend time on the production floor interacting with the product builders and processes to better understand the product requirements for complaint investigations.
Join, support, and potentially lead continuous improvement project teams as business needs arise in this fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
BS degree in Engineering or Technical Field or equivalent experience
2-5 years' experience
Engineering experience and demonstrated use of Quality tools/methodologies
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels and functions within the organization
Project management and leadership skills, including the demonstrated ability to lead multi-departmental project teams and resolve quality-related issues in a timely and effective manner
Advanced computer skills, including statistical/data analysis and report writing skills
Experience implementing various product and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing)
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
Ability to maintain regular and predictable on-site attendance
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree preferred
Detailed knowledge of FDA, GMP, and ISO 13485 is preferred
Prior medical device experience preferred
ASQ CQE or other certifications preferred
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred

The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
