Position Purpose & Summary:

This role is responsible for the management of current Corporate accounts as well as business development - securing new customers and introducing new products to the customers in order to achieve margin target goals. Provides solutions to technical problems. Helps manage price risk and supply chain issues. Also responsible for identifying growth opportunities, industry trends and leading the development and delivery of solutions to the customer.

Principal Accountabilities:

50%Technical sales calls - conveying product and company features and benefits to prospective and current customers. Application of appropriate resources for gaining and maintaining business, with both current product line and new products

30%Account management - develop and implement a strategy, by account, that defines the potential business available and details the process for capturing the business. This includes identification of key decision makers, products, pricing, technical support needs, and other resources required to close sales

10%Business development - translate customer needs, identify and close technical gaps in Cargill offering that will create distinctive value for customers in these market segments.

10% In depth understanding of targeted segments - to result in 'best in class' understanding of customer issues and potential solutions, leading to becoming supplier of choice for key and strategic customers.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5 years of commercial experience - sales, business development in chemical industry or other direct commercial experience

  • Ability to build long-term, sustainable business-to-business relationships within organizations (both internally and externally)

  • Ability to travel domestically 50-60%

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate value propositions with multiple functions, resulting in increased value for both companies

  • Demonstrated collaboration, communication, and leadership skills

  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills

  • Highly motivated

  • Customer champion

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to excel in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS – Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or related technical field

  • 2 Years - Managing Major Strategic global Accounts

  • Chemical industry experience

  • Familiar with Thermoset Technologies, including Polyols, Epoxy Resins, Curing Agents, Surfactants and modifiers
