The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Structural Heart Division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.

This role is responsible for creating and meeting short and long-term business goals to support our customers and business requirements through balancing numerous conflicts and constantly changing elements, e.g. customer demand, inventory investment, production capabilities, changing business needs and strategies, regulatory requirements, technology changes and supplier capabilities. This role is responsible for driving the Sales and Operations Planning process for the Structural Heart business unit.

Opportunity for key talent to consider this role to learn the business and develop towards future Supply Chain Leadership roles in the business. This role will have solid visibility to Senior Management.

What You'll Work On:

  • Manages the development of production plans to support end customer sales, non-revenue demand, and finished goods changes.

  • Manages finished goods inventory levels and safety stocks in support of end customer sales at the desired service levels, while maintaining the lowest inventory investment possible.

  • Resolves product delivery conflicts with plans and prioritizes production schedules.

  • Sets strategic and tactical direction for the organization to support business plans. Develops strategic improvement initiatives to meet long-range goals; assure implementation of these initiatives.

  • Consolidates, reviews, and approves information required for plans and updates; presents to senior management. Ensures schedule commitments and financial goals are met.

  • Manages resources, provides direction to staff, approves broad staffing decisions and develops the organization to ensure effectiveness.

  • Translates inputs from technical meetings and Marketing into impact on short term and long term raw material procurement strategies.

  • Coordinate plans with R&D/Manufacturing/Marketing to ensure adequate inventory levels are reached prior to market entry.

  • Communicates with senior Abbott management and suppliers or executive management.

  • Represents Abbott with external agencies.

  • Works with peers in Purchasing, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Quality to support production.

  • Talent development – Attract and retain a diverse, highly qualified staff. Provide ongoing performance feedback. Sets goals which align to department, division and company goals. Manages te execution of those goals through coaching and mentoring.

  • Strong leadership skills - Build positive relationships with team and cross functional partners to ensure business results are met or exceeded

  • Sustainable organization – create a high-performance organization that meets strategic and operational goals by instituting a culture of learning and motivating others to succeed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or related field.

  • 10 years’ minimum experience in people management with demonstrated abilities as a manager.

  • 10 years’ minimum experience in project management

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years’ in medical device.

  • Master’s degree or MBA

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model.

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
