Hilton Food and Beverage Supervisor in Ponce, Puerto Rico

A Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the daily management of activities and services of all hotel food and beverage outlets (restaurants, bars, banquets, room service, pool, etc.) in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. The Food and Beverage Supervisor oversees operations to ensure that restaurants run smoothly. They train and supervise restaurant staff, ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations, and resolve customer complaints.

What will I be doing?

As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you should exercise effective management skills and take necessary disciplinary actions to address poor staff performance. Ultimately, a top-performing Food and Beverage Supervisor should be able to achieve exceptional customer service and ensure that customers have a pleasant restaurant experience. The Food & Beverage Supervisor will have the following responsibilities:

  • Oversees set up of dining and service areas.

  • Ensure all opening and closing duties of the outlets are complete according to standards or internal regulations.

  • Monitors daily inventory requisitions of each supervised outlet to ensure smooth operations

  • Visually inspects and takes corrective action to ensure that facilities in restaurant look appealing and attractive to guests.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all equipment is in working order.

  • Manages and monitors product quality and guest satisfaction in restaurant.

  • Responsible for ensuring that food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to guest specifications.

  • Has heavy interaction with the guest to ensure a memorable quality experience.

  • Checking in on dining customers to enquire about food quality and service.

  • Resolving customer complaints or concerns regarding food preparation and menu offerings, in a professional manner.

  • Able to identify ways to decrease the restaurant's operational costs.

  • Trains, supervises, counsels, and participates in the evaluation of restaurant staff employees for the efficient operation of the restaurant.

  • Managing restaurant staff's work schedules.

  • Manages staffing levels throughout shift, under general direction of the DFB

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures that relate to the restaurant as well as all local, state and federal laws and regulations.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must show compliance with the following requisites:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, minimum required

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field, recommended

  • 5 years of food service experience, minimum required

  • Culinary training, desirable

  • Supervisory experience, preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations, including supervisory aspects, service techniques and guest interaction

  • Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge

  • Show high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information to resolve clientele and/or employees problems

  • Customer focus oriented

  • A bility to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods

  • Sk illed in math and using percentages

  • Know ledge of basic training techniques

  • Awareness of local, state and federal health and sanitation laws

  • Available to work full time, mostly on nights and weekends

  • Available to work extended hours, as needed

  • Able to work on their feet, stand for long times, and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions

  • Required ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees

  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system, required
