The Opportunity

Our Princeton, NJ location has an opportunity for a Production Manager . The Production Manager will plan, direct, and monitor all production activities within the Princeton site to maximize the use of the organization's resources and meet established production specifications and schedules, volume, cost, scrap targets, and quality standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Aid in driving leadership vision and decision-making alignment within manufacturing

  • Build effective cross-functional relationships with the manufacturing management team

  • Plan and prioritize budgets and resources (people, materials, equipment) to achieve operational excellence

  • Direct management of production floor operators and technicians

  • Hire, mentor, and develop exceptional individual contributors and front-line leaders

  • Appraise team performance, reward and manage performance of employees.

  • Champion a culture of teamwork and communication across the organization

  • Build a high-performing team that consistently delivers both individual and team goals

  • Ensure people have the appropriate level of training for system and processes in manufacturing.

  • Ensures that all personal and team member safety, quality and other assigned training is up to date and in compliance.

  • Support a culture that embraces the safety of the work environment and the safety of our customer’s patients by compliance with company EHS procedures, policies, and GMP requirements

  • Display and promote positive safety behaviors at all times; uses proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures; that area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels; that all people in the area comply with the safety directives while keeping production areas neat and clean.

  • Driving right first time culture and execute manufacturing unit operations by providing direct training, guidance, and problem solving

  • Determine current capacity of production facility and theorize, develop, and implement roadmap for manufacturing scale up

  • Establish department goals, tracking, and reporting KPIs, and drive continuous improvement efforts

  • Ensure deviations, CAPA, change controls, process transfers, material dispositions and other business change needs are fully supported

  • Review and approve documents including standard operating procedures, batch records, material specifications, and validation protocols / reports

  • Establish team policies, organizational structure, shift structure, and career advancement

  • Champion and participate in internal and external inspection readiness efforts

  • Identify and mitigate risks in manufacturing operations that could negatively impact output commitments

  • Demonstrate responsibility for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system

  • Encourage and introduce creative approaches to improve processes, drive continuous improvement, ensure contingency plans are in place, maximize efficiency and improve margin.

  • Conduct GEMBA walks on a regular basis

  • Develop and implement manufacturing schedules and procedures and allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity.

  • Analyze production, maintenance, and malfunction records to identify problems and recommend solutions (for example changes to procedures, workflow, or equipment) that will improve performance.

  • Liaise with functional or operational area managers (for example in supply and logistics, or engineering) to understand their current and future needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities.

  • Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules.

  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of operators and technicians who are responsible for various production activities such as assembly, machine operation, processing, testing, and packaging.

  • Work closely with warehouse and supply chain in regard to staging teams to ensure availability of production materials.

  • Maintains all aspects of production areas to maintain GMP and 5S compliance.

  • Participate in equipment investment decisions and testing

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required-specifically within an Engineering or Technical program.

  • Knowledge of MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) system, GMPs, SOPs, safety protocols and the know–how to work and manage within a regulatory environment.

  • Familiar with a variety of the production concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication, problem solving, and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for engineering principles and manufacturing systems.

  • Strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) skills.

  • Good people communication and motivation skills

Preferred

  • Good presentation skills

  • Operational experience in a medical device manufacturing environment

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
