Job summary:

This position will be responsible for managing the on-machine transmission development in test ground or customer existing application. The candidate will work closely with the transmission control / platform engineer, performance engineer, software engineer and operations to collect on-machine data to verify transmission key feature function, clutch control logic and shift control performance and perform parameter optimize accordingly to ensure acceptable machine performance meets PQVC requirements.

What you will do:

  • Transmission Development - Collaborate with control engineers, platform teams, product support and operators. Work with key team member develop valid test requirement and test plan base on master project plan.

  • Develop transmission development goals that meet design criteria and performance requirements.

  • Collect qualified test data to run analysis and perform tuning accordingly to achieve performance target. Create and deliver technical reports including describing clutch fill work, shifting performance.

  • Communicate technical information to customers and internal technical leadership and management.

  • Collaborate with a global team across multiple functional areas.

Skills you must have:

  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Extensive understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

  • Analytical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Problem Solving: Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Clear verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in an accredited engineering curriculum

Top candidates will also have:

  • Technical knowledge and experience in transmission hardware, clutch design, transmission oil system and development: testing, calibration, simulation, controls, or design

  • Experience of CANape/ATI Vision or other similar software, test data analyzing, writing engineering reports or certification documentation

  • Demonstrated ability to make priority decisions while working multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in an accredited engineering curriculum

  • Travel requirements may be more than 40%

  • This position is located in Qingdao, China
