Job Description

BAE Systems is offering an exciting opportunity to support an important and dynamic Department of Justice customer as aDatabase Administratorsupporting a highly capable and diverse team driving technical innovation.

Functional Responsibilities:Positions are staffed to design, develop, refactor, enhance, test and evaluate, and support software applications currently hosted on-premises to be hosted within the cloud AWS GovCloud instance compliant with customer policy directives and guides mandated to ensure legal and information security compliance. This shall include analysis of the existing system in collaboration with other team members and Government PM and designing an appropriate solution. Candidates shall be skilled in multiple web application languages, reverse engineering, and have a strong background in building scalable, user intuitive, high-quality and high performing web applications. The ELTU application enhancements or modifications may include business and process changes to ELTU applications/systems as well as coordination with other integrated and non-ELTU software systems. Work alongside infrastructure, development, and managerial team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Required Experience, Skill, and Education:

(U)Minimum Education:Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Systems or related field of study; or in lieu of education, six (6) additional years of relevant experience in database administration.

Minimum/General Experience:

  1. Two (2) or more years of experience as a software developer in building multi-tier framework software applications using object-oriented programming languages, such as Java and Python;

  2. Experience normalizing data and providing user support;

  3. Experience developing SOAP and REST APIs in a client/server environment(i.e., Java, Python, etc.);

4.

  1. Experience with regular expressions;

  2. Experience developing, debugging and/or refactoring code for popular programming languages (i.e., Java, Python, etc.);

  3. Experience with scripting command line tools (e.g., Vim, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) to automate command tasks;

  4. Knowledge of web-related technologies HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS;

  5. One (1) or more years of SQL and/or PostgreSQL database administrator experience.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Desired Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience developing applications in the cloud (AWS preferred);

  2. Experience migrating on-premises hosted applications to the cloud (AWS preferred);

  3. Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM);

  4. One (1) or more years of experience working on an Agile development team using scrum and Agile principles;

  5. One (1) or more years of experience with application development leveraging a SQL and/or PostgreSQL database as data storage;

  6. Ability to develop, troubleshoot, and test software to satisfy requirements; and

  7. Experience developing Section 508 compliant applications.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
