BAE Systems Learning and Development Manager - Remote/Onsite Hybrid in Radford, United States
BAE Systems, Inc. is currently hiring for a Learning and Development Manager to support our Ordnance Systems Inc. (OSI) division. We are looking for a seasoned professional with demonstrated experience and success in designing, delivering, and managing technical and development solutions. The Learning and Development Manager will oversee actions to diagnose, design, and deliver solutions at the organization, team, and individual level. Solutions include, but are not limited to, technical training for manufacturing employees, learning programs and tools, team building actions, survey design and administration, and organizational change support at the division (OSI) level. The role has accountability for the strategy, design, and implementation of division-wide management and leadership development initiatives.
This will be a Remote/Onsite Hybrid role where you will work from home and go onsite at the Radford, Virginia site on average of three days each week.
This position will require up to 25% travel, where you will travel mainly to Kingsport, Tennessee on average of two times each month.
This role has a 9/80 schedule where you will have every other Friday off.
Deliver cost-effective, strategic performance and learning solutions that yield tangible business results and reduce costs or increase value for OSI.
Establish and maintain high value strategic relationships with senior leaders who can champion learning and team development solutions.
Create business-focused manufacturing training, learning, and performance development solutions in collaboration with clients that address management and leadership development needs.
Develop systems specific programs and, at times, customized, off-the-shelf vendor offerings to meet division needs.
Diagnose to address gaps at the site(s), team and individual level.
Use data to analyze, construct concise presentations, and influence senior leaders to champion and partner on improvement initiatives.
Collect metrics, perform analytics, interpret the data, and present to and influence site leadership for support needed to implement system and other changes as required.
Support the wider talent management agenda and will partner on cross-functional work and projects with other professionals in the Talent Solutions team.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor Degree with 10 years of experience or equivalent experience
Experience in Learning and Development
Experience in Training within Manufacturing
Experience in Adult Learning Theory and Instructional Design Principles/Models
Experience in Program/Project Management with the ability to manage scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and prioritizing
Experience in People Management/Leadership with the ability to lead, mentor, coach, and develop team
Expert meeting design and facilitation
Ability to assess and diagnose individual leadership skills and team functions, using a variety of methods
Ability to negotiate internally with line leaders within business areas and externally with vendors, suppliers, partners, and other organizations
Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to positively influence leaders and others
Strong Technical Training skills
Strong Client Management and Relationship Building skills
Strong Interpersonal skills
Strong Communication and Presentation skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Graduate Degree a plus in Behavioral/Social Sciences, Business, Talent Development a plus
Professional Certification a plus
Experience in Defense (DoD) or Government Contracting industry a plus
