Overview:

Global Clinical Trail Operations (GCTO) is a global organization with over 3,800 people operating in 47 countries, responsible and accountable for the execution of the Merck clinical research portfolio. The Global Clinical Operations (GDO) department in housed in Clinical Data Management and Standards (GDMS) within the GCTO organization. GDO focuses on data collection, data review and integrity throughout the lifecycle of clinical trials. Clinical trials provide the required data which allows Merck to bring new prescription medications and vaccines to the market.

Successful candidates will be able to work independently as well as proactively collaborate with colleagues. Primary responsibilities will include executing end to end Data Management activities with the support and oversight of a Senior Clinical Data Manager (SCDM)/Lead Clinical Data Manager (LCDM); issuing queries and follow up until resolution; escalating issues to LCDM according to each process as needed. The candidate will also provide supports SCDM/LCDM in the creation and review of Trial Deliverables, document archiving, UAT of Data Bases, External Data activities and related trial assignments. The candidate will be an active team participant, attend team meetings and will complete virtual Merck trainings on job related topics. Additionally, the candidate may interact with internal and external stakeholders (study sites, vendors, committees, etc.) in support of clinical study objectives.

You will be part of a diverse, cross-functional team of individuals who execute our clinical trials. The Fellowship will include progressive on-the-job training and operational project assignments under the direction of an Operations Manager (OM).

Your Fellowship Project

You will partner with GDO team members to train on systems and tools to complete tasks and deliverables critical in the execution of our clinical trials.

The fellowship intends to:

· Develop an understanding of the phases of clinical research

· Develop an understanding of the ICH3 guidelines

· Develop an understanding of the systems and tools critical to the oversight and conduct of a clinical trial

· Participate in team meetings to develop an understanding of the different skills and expertise of data management within a clinical trial team

Work Experience

Experience/Skills We are Looking for:

• Education:

• High School Diploma/GED only required for CDM roles. SCDM, LCDM require bachelor’s degree to be hired into the position (can progress from CDM role without degree)

• Knowledge and Skills:

• Self-motivated, excellent in work planning and time management.

• Fluent oral and written English skills.

• Good sense and awareness of regulations and policies.

• Able to work under pressure and in a changing environment with flexibility.

• Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with both the technical and business areas.

Primary Work Site/Schedule

· On-site work locations: Rahway, NJ, OR West Point, PA; Hybrid schedule

· Monday-Thursday (Core hours: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, flexible start and stop)
