Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Director of Capital Procurement to join our team and contribute to our mission.

As the Director of Capital Procurement for Animal Health, you will be responsible for leading category-based procurement strategies, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management with key global suppliers. Your role will involve fostering alignment between Procurement and the business partners, executing initiatives that support asset delivery and management, delivering cost savings, improving supply capacity and reliability, and supporting various supplier management initiatives. You will work closely with key leaders within Animal Health Manufacturing, Global Engineering Services, Supplier Development & Performance Management, Quality, Finance, and other corporate functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies and organizational efficiencies aligned with the company's business objectives and growth strategy

Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to finetune and roll out multi-year category strategies

Execute capital projects and sourcing initiatives that support the delivery of assets to Animal Health while mitigating risk

Provide procurement-related status briefings to project management and executives, highlighting vendor-related issues

Drive contractual excellence through collaborative partnerships and effective incentives to ensure quality, schedule, budget adherence, resourcing, safety metrics, and risk mitigation

Foster an image of high-quality procurement practices, demonstrating direct accountability for spend management, category management, and execution

Drive continuous improvement, tap into supplier enabled innovations and establish supplier relationships with the intent of future improvement

Engage in internal and external governance activities to exert procurement influence, provide commercial leadership, and establish appropriate execution strategies

Execute capital procurement activities in accordance with Global Procurement and compliance procedures

Develop breakthrough strategies that deliver quick wins and generate legitimate business value

Adopt high-quality change practices with customers and stakeholders to implement a sustainable structure for assets management

Drive continuous improvement and establish supplier relationships with the intent of future improvement

Actively support Environmental Social Governance and Diversity initiatives

Education:

Degree level of education in Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a relevant discipline

Required Experience:

A minimum of seven years of procurement leadership and business management experience

Professional experience in complex matrix organizations, preferably in the animal health/biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment

Preferred Experience:

MBA or relevant advanced degree

Animal Health/Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry experience

Technical expertise in procurement categories, including Capital Procurement, within a manufacturing environment

Ability to operate autonomously and manage conflicting priorities

Relevant qualifications such as CIPS/IPM and procurement experience

Significant global/international business experience

Excellent written and spoken English, additional languages are an asset (Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Mandarin)
