Director, Executive and Corporate Communications

The Director, Executive and Corporate Communications, is responsible for the development and execution of communication strategies and tactics for our Chief Financial Officer, who leads the company’s finance, procurement and real estate operations.

This leader will support the preparation and management of all aspects of communications and thought leadership opportunities for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), including employee and external communications. Support for the CFO should be designed in a way that is strategic, proactive, inspirational and supports business goals. As such, this leader will work closely with the CFO’s chief of staff, media relations team, employee communications team, investor relations team, and other key stakeholders to manage and coordinate the details of the CFO’s engagements.

Responsibilities will include leading preparations and day-of support for public speaking engagements, public appearances, speeches and employee engagements, in coordination with the broader Corporate Affairs team.

This individual will report to the Executive Director of the Global Employee and Leadership Communications team.

Scope of work and core responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement internal and executive communication strategies for the CFO that strengthen our Company’s reputation and brand with employees and key stakeholders, and align with the overall business strategy

  • Ensure consistent and timely information to employees through various communications programs and channels

  • Provide advice, training and support for internal and external engagements, ensuring the CFO is using consistent messaging that aligns with the overall Company communication strategy

  • Create clear and inspirational content related to key engagement initiatives

  • Support the implementation of change management strategies as needed

  • Provide crisis and issues management support as needed

  • Manage approvals of communications requests for the CFO

  • Monitor and report on employee experience and engagement

  • Set measurable goals for execution of internal and executive communication strategies and ensure progress is tracked, reported and value is evidenced

  • Work collaboratively with the Global Employee and Leadership Communications team and across Corporate Affairs to deliver holistic communication strategies that align with our company’s business strategic priorities

Position Qualifications :

Location/Commute:

  • This role is based at our Headquarters site in Rahway (NJ, USA).

  • We offer a Hybrid setup {combination of an in-office (3 days) & remote/offsite (2 days)} This position cannotbe 100% remote.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 or more years of communications experience OR

  • High School diploma with at least 12 years of equivalent experience which could include: communications, media, and/or military.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with a focus in employee engagement, corporate and executive communications (including speech writing)

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.

  • Proven experience confidently interacting with and counseling corporate executives and key internal partners with best in-class communication practices, ensuring messaging is consistent across the organization

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including success managing major projects and enterprise-wide initiatives

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams

  • Strong writing, editing and communications skills across multiple media, including speeches, email, video scripts, editorial and social content

  • Creative thinker and passionate about building culture

  • Organized with high attention to detail

  • Strong project management skills with proven success managing multiple, high-profile and significant projects

  • Exceptional business acumen with agility in a fast-paced environment

  • Proactive with ability to “see” around corners and anticipate needs of our executives

  • Positive attitude and ability to thrive in fast-paced environment

  • Ability to bring outside-in thinking and share best practices with the team

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in public relations, external engagement and corporate reputation

  • Experience in healthcare industry, including large Fortune 500 companies

  • Experience at a PR agency or equivalent welcome

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Expected salary range:

$164,800.00 - $259,400.00
