We work in the local plant connected to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.

The Executive Director of End to End Technical Operations in the Manufacturing Division, Global Pharmaceutical Operations is responsible for strategic and tactical direction of technical product leadership of our Company’s small molecule commercial franchises. These franchises support $14BN in revenue and comprise approximately 30 product families. The End to End Technical Operations function has four components. These are 1) The Technical Process Stewards who in collaboration with the cross-functional Value Chain Technical Team devise the strategy and execute the portfolio of technical work in support of our Company's ‘invest to win’, ‘must win’, and at-risk base franchises which support the bulk of our Company’s small molecule revenue and revenue growth, 2) The Problem Solving Center of Excellence (COE) who develop and deploy investigational best practices and improvements, 3) The Strategic Project Management COE who provide world class project management support for GPO’s most important technical and strategic projects and 4) The Data and Digital COE who identify, design and implement data and digital solutions across GPO to provide rapid access to data, solve problems, enable efficiencies and create new technical innovations.

The End to End Technical Operations (E2E Tech Ops) Leader also provides leadership and oversight of all process and analytical activities across small molecules. They achieve this through the Technical Process Stewards and through their leadership of the ‘Executive Supply Oversight Committee’ (ESOC) which brings together executive leadership across technology, regulatory, quality and supply chain to identify, prioritize, resource and provide decision support to the portfolio of technical work across the Operating Unit. The E2E Tech Ops leader is connected to the pipeline development activities, supply chain activities, regulatory and quality activities and GHH operations and strategy through appropriate governance bodies. They are also a key member of the Science & Technology Leadership Team

Plans and operates a budget of approximately $5 MM and supervises a staff of approximately 20 personnel across the various elements of the group.

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Primary activities include responsibility for the product management and leadership of the portfolio of 30 most valuable brands/brand groupings. Value Chain Technical Teams (VCTT) are responsible for managing and achieving the technical directives of the Product Master Plans for the most valuable products. Is responsible for real time coaching of technical products leaders and stewards to develop superior product management skills within the organization and to achieve consistent product outcomes with respect to proactive technical robustness of our end-to-end supply chains that meet our Manufacturing Division’s expected World Class Supply performance levels. Key measures of performance are effective management of technical projects, , achievement of process and analytical robustness, meeting quality and regulatory measures, achieving delivery and supply without disruptions, meeting projected demand, and delivery on COGS and customer quality level performance at the right inventory levels with minimal discards.

  • The leader of this group provides a single point of contact and leadership of all end to end supply support issues. They drive supply support strategy, prioritization and mobilization of S&T efforts. They do this through personal leadership but also through their chairpersonship of the cross-divisional Executive Supply Oversight Council (ESOC). This oversight body is responsible for providing strategic and tactical direction for and oversight of VCTTs. This includes identification and tracking of key portfolio issues and product strategies, ensuring appropriate cross divisional prioritization and resourcing and achieving decision making and alignment for key technical issues.

  • Charters and coaches new VCTTs in both understanding of the key commercialization business processes as well as strong fundamental understanding of product management tools and systems to ensure strong transition to Supply.

  • Develops and organizes the ongoing sharing of best practices and lessons learned between our Company's VCTTs and against available industry benchmark sources. Develops and manages a knowledge management infrastructure to ensure that team information and lessons learned are available to teams and functions. Has stewardship responsibilities for key technical product business processes and maintains ongoing optimization and streamlining of these business processes to incorporate lessons learned and optimize performance execution.

  • Organizes the interface for sharing of key product pipeline information between Development and Supply organizations, the Small Molecule Commercialization organizations, and the SM Operating Unit. Manages the overall interface with Value Chain Management organization to ensure aligned approaches between VCTT and Value Chain Management Team (VCMT) practices and approaches.

  • Provides strategic direction, prioritization and resources for the data and digital COE to enable the team to enhance data infrastructure and innovate to realize digital solutions which provide efficiencies and new capabilities across GPO.

  • Sets direction for the Problem Solving COE to ensure they are developing and deploying best practices and next generation capabilities in solving the most difficult technical problems.

  • Deploys project management expertise to support the most complex technical projects to ensure success and realization of product technical strategies

  • Serves as an engaged member of the GPO S&T leadership team, acting with a board of directors mindset to collaboratively deliver on the goals of the organization. Responsibilities are inclusive but not limited to establishing yearly priorities, tracking progress against scorecard, achieving financial targets, managing talent, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
