Merck Associate Director, Oncology Organized Customer, Access and Reimbursement Marketing in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Description

Our Market Access team monitor population demographics and develop solutions to give patients access to our medicines. We act as both educators and advocates for our products, processes, and practices that help us revolutionize how our medicines create value in society.

Position Job Description

  • Develop payer and key account customer strategy for Service Agreements across all customer segments and products

  • In coordination with Brand Marketing, negotiate all Service agreements with GPOs and other organized customers

  • Manage all aspects of Service Agreements including development, review (Medical/Legal, Compliance & Procurement) and fair market value process in order to ensure timely execution

  • Oversee the execution of purchased services to include scheduling, recruiting, and the development and approval of resources

  • Collaborate with Oncology Managed Care Brand marketing to develop strategy and execute recommended tactics

  • Develop measurement plans to ensure all strategies are achieving intended outcome and recommend actions based on measurement

  • Responsible for budgeting and milestone payments of Service Agreements

  • Develop engagement strategy for Pathways/EMR-EHR companies within the Oncology space

  • Develop Oncology "above brand" resources for Surround Sound/Sales Support teams

  • Align Organized Customer Access/Reimbursement (OCAR) strategy with appropriate IAM teams

  • Ensure compliance of all tasks with established Guidance

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years in Healthcare industry (includes experience in a customer facing role and experience in marketing/strategy roles can include early strategic support roles such as promotion management, market research, or similar roles)

  • 8-10 years general marketing, sales and/or consulting experience

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • 3+ years of Oncology Marketing/Sales experience

  • Strong Project Management Skills

  • Customer facing experience with assigned segment customers (e.g. HCC or Hosp/AMC customers, etc.)

  • Portfolio management experience

  • Account Management/Contract negotiation experience

  • Experience in pharmaceutical/bio-tech industry

  • Conducted long-range planning; Profit Plan/budgeting

  • Experience using SCOPE/L3 tools, PromoMats, and SAP

  • 3+ years of relationship/account management experience

Minimum/Preferred Education Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
