Job Summary:
The Director of Global Strategic Marketing, Strategy & Innovation will be responsible for developing comprehensive disease-focused strategies for J&J MedTech, with an initial emphasis on high-priority areas such as Oncology and our ongoing collaboration with Interventional Oncology (INTO), which is part of J&J Innovative Medicine.
The Director of Global Strategic Marketing, Strategy & Innovation will create compelling messaging for internal and external collaborators, evaluate market potential, analyze competitive landscapes, and identify new opportunities for disease-focused areas within J&J MedTech Surgery.
To excel in this position, the Director will partner with cross-functional teams, influence senior leaders in a matrix environment, and consistently deliver measurable results through strategic vision and strong execution. The Director will report to the Senior Director, GSM Strategy, MedTech Surgery.
Duties & Responsibilities
Cross-Sector Collaboration : Serve as primary MedTech strategy liaison with Interventional Oncology (INTO) R&D team within J&J Innovative Medicine (JJIM) to advance cross-sector innovation and program development.
Go-to-Market Strategy Development: Act as a conduit for designing and implementing potential go-to-market strategies involving the MedTech sector to support the JJIM INTO therapeutic portfolio.
Strategic Development
Develop a comprehensive J&J MedTech strategy for disease-focused areas (e.g., Oncology), ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.
Create compelling messaging and value propositions for both internal and external partners to reinforce critical initiatives.
Market & Commercial Assessments
Provide MedTech expertise to commercial and strategic evaluations of new technologies and platforms.
Evaluate market potential, analyze competitive landscape models, and determine strategic fit of new business opportunities.
External Innovation Support
Conduct and support strategic assessments of external innovation opportunities that can be integrated into the J&J MedTech.
Identify and cultivate potential partnerships or acquisitions to enhance the existing portfolio and contribute to mid and long-term growth.
Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required (advanced degree is preferred).
A minimum of 10 years business experience is required
A minimum of 5 years healthcare marketing/sales experience is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years direct people management, supervisory, and/or project management experience is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on leadership, relationship development, and influence management required.
Medical Device marketing and/or sales experience is highly preferred.
Experience in product development including needs assessment, portfolio management, new opportunity assessment, and product lifecycle management is preferred.
Experience partnering effectively with R&D, clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams to drive integrated go-to-market strategies is preferred
Proven track record navigating ambiguity and complexity to deliver strong business result.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
Demonstrated competency building and driving marketing strategy is preferred
Strong financial competence and ability to create data-driven and market-appropriate strategies.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$146,000 - $251,850
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
